ub3rman123
I don't know if I should be happy that this means a ton more people will be playing this game or angry because Valve thinks Oblivion is only worth 10 bucks.
shaklee1
I'm so tempted to buy it. I've always wanted the other DLC but I already have the GOTY edition, and I really don't want to start a new character if I cave. lol.
Marthos
All this "download it for x amount" blah blah from these sites selling games, maybe it is the future of gaming and many other programmes etc. Call me old fashioned but I still think you cant beat having your own silver disc with your game / software on it, whatever happens to your hard drive, you've still got the ultimate back up. morrowmouse
Does anyone know if there are any conflicts that exist at all between the download from steam and any of the mods out there. I remember reading something but I can't even remember now if it was oblivion or fallout3 where the download version conflicts with something, either the obse or ??? something. I'm considering grabbing this download but want to make sure I wont run into any problems.

I know the Steam version of Oblivion is fully compatible with OBSE as it provides an install for the Steam version. I'm not sure about other compability issues but I've never actually run into any, so I think it's safe to say that the Steam version is just as good as the retail version. elpiggo
Well I bought it and when you launch it from Steam it opens the typical Oblivion launcher like you'd have with the CD version, with Shivering Isles and all the DLC in the Data Files folder. I haven't tried any third party mods yet but from a quick look at the install files it's basically the same as the CD version but you launch it from Steam, so I can't see why it should be incompatible with anything.
