Well, basically what it says in the title. A mod where you can save all your stored items to a separate file on your computer, by activating the barrel/chest/sack with the items you want to save. Of course, it has to be a storage unit which is free for the player to use.

The idea behind this:

I just encountered a bug that, if I understood this correctly, is not yet fixed by Bethesda, because they haven't found the cause yet. Its a bug that deletes your stored items even from storage units that are labeled as safe storage units (such as the barrels/sacks in Jorrvaskr after you've joined the Companions).

So what this mod (if it is even possible) is supposed to do is this:

*your stored items get saved in a separate file

*this seperate file can be loaded into the game to your current save, so that, should your stored items vanish, they reappear again inside the chest/barrel/sack you stored them

*you cannot upload the file indefinitely (only once, and as soon as you save the game/or there is an autosave, the file is deleted)

If there is anyone out there who could create such a mod, I'd be delighted! ^^

EDIT: Or a mod which allows you to transfer items from one save to another?

By 'labeled as' do you mean on a wiki? I just had a quick look at Jorrvaskr in the Creation Kit. I didn't see any safe barrels and not all of the sacks are safe.

This mod does this:

When you store an item in a container it will ask you whether you want it to be a safe container.

Thank you! This mod sounds very interesting indeed. I'll look into it ^^

Is there perhaps a mod that lets you retrieve items you've placed into a chest/barrel/sack etc and that simply vanished? Because well, as I said, I lost mine. Stored them in Jorrvaskr in a barrel (the stolen ones in a sack) that was free to use once you've joined the companions. They are most definitely NOT respawning. But save for one item in each container, all items I stored are gone. I've got a save where they are still all there, true, but I'd prefer to get them back without going back to that save. Is there a possibility?

No. In the "Legendary Edition Official Game Guide" for skyrim. Could be that I misunderstood something though, so... anyhow, I did call support and, as I wrote in the initial post, this seems to be a bug that is still kind of a mystery to them/that no one has isolated the cause of yet.

I'm afraid that those items are lost for good. You could always use the console command player.additem to get new ones.

Damn...I was afraid you'd say that. Still, it was worth a try *sigh*

Just in case...where can I find the id for all items? (ideally including those added by mods?)

Type help "name of item" into the console and it will give you the ID of any item.

Ok, thank you

If I want one item multiple times, do I have to type it in the console each time or can I get, say 10 Dragonbones at once by adding a number?

EDIT: still, is there anyone who can create a mod which saves the stored items separately? Or maybe a mod with which one can recover items that were stored and simply vanished?

Or perhaps a mod which allows you to transfer items to another save?
