SpellAndShield
Why would someone voluntarily ask to be banned? Is there some overarching theme in voluntary bann requests? Sorry for the weird question but it has puzzled me for a while.
ub3rman123
Sometimes people figure that banning themselves is the best way to keep themselves away from the sites, such as when they have to concentrate on other things, like school or work.
LHammonds
Most of the self-requested bans that I have handled centered around real-life issues needing to be addressed and that accessing this site / modding is a bit too distracting and addictive...so a ban help keep said members from feeling the need to type in the web address since they cannot check PMs or participate in threads. Most of the time it has been centered around school and keeping up grades. LHammonds

Sorry for the weird question but it has puzzled me for a while. HI, People ask to be banned for multiple reasons: Could be they're addicted to modding and need a little nudge to move away from it, maybe they've made a new account or they're just leaving the site. When moderators ban an account they almost alwaysgive a reason. "self request" is pretty much self-explanetory and the reason could be some that I spoke about. ~~Ross
