hmph, thats what I hate about democracy. No matter how good an idea is, someone will always misunderstand or have an opposing view and think that your idea will cause the sky to fall in.

[snip]

Compromise is the hardest thing to get out of a debate, but its the only way we can realisticaly end this matter without losing a chunk of the nexus' community, one way or another.

So this, then, is the kernel of the brute! Once the guys are experienced enough to make a paradigm shift in their animalic interests from boobs with a kind of Duckburger cube on top towards more beautiful faces with boobs everything would be fine and the question dressed or undressed wouldn't be at issue here, isnt it?

I wish...

till then: away with it! :woot:

I can understand the view about faces. I am primarily interested in making beautiful faces on my toons. In fact I am on a mission to try and make my vanilla race characters look beautiful by judicious use of good quality face textures and the elimination of the blotchies by using better age maps. Also the head mesh is important (I LOVE Robert's head mesh from the Head and Hair Resource for Elves and for halfies like Bretons). But since I changed my body mod and due to the previous plethora of the tittus ginormicus in Image Share, there was at one time no point in uploading any purty portraits. Now that the nude images have been banished, perhaps there will be more scope for portraits, landscapes, good lighting (whether photoshopped or not.)

Voted no, there part of modding as well, different people different tastes (Although BDM is going far but meah... each with there own i guess), there lots of things i don't like in life but that doesn't mean they shouldn't exist. Like i hear many idiots commenting on mods: "omg this is so out of place this shouldn't be uploaded or exist" don't like it ? move forward, let those that like it enjoy it in peace however, that's what i think (example: i don't really like american cars, mainly european an japanese ones, does that mean American cars Shouldn't exists ?(The answer is no :P)).

Still as far as both violent and nudity pictures are concerned they should be categorized accordingly the same way as the mods are (meaning there being an adult section and an all age one).

My two cents :P.

(note: when i use the term "Idiots" i'm mainly referring to those that leave stupid comments in mods it has nothing to do with the current thread.)

Why ? Some like nudity, some don't, it fits, also meaning you like nudity means you have no tastes ? So you mean Michelangelo had no tastes for making nude sculptures or paintings ?

To compare Michelangelo with the local Muppet Show is rather too-too ...

No, the fine art is not what we're talking about here, unfortunately

I think we all like nudity somehow, but the image share section is probably not the right place for every kind of nudity. Not because I'm prudish, but because it is a too public place.

This is quite a pretty good example. Michelangelo painted a church with nude males and females, which is quite a public place. People have no problem with. But imagine he would have drawn porn

Two things...

First off, it is not a matter of those things existing, or even being made, but rather what the site admin WANTS to have hosted on HIS site. This is no different than you not wanting some random kid in your neighborhood coming up to you and drawing a crude penis on your forehead in pen. You can cover it up, and you can try to wash it off after you and others around have taken notice of it, but it isn't something that most people would want on their forehead. As this applies to the internet, often it's not just your face, but your whole damn body if you don't respond to it soon enough and raise some objection. Without some restrictions, anyone with 5 minutes, has an e-mail account, is "clever" enough to lie about their age, and has one of the games we support to run a nude mod, could have uploaded just about anything they wanted. Even you, yourself are imposing some restrictions based on certain content because you don't happen to like it. So maybe you don't mind having a penis drawn on your forehead, but you'd certainly have a problem with someone drawing a detailed scene featuring a man and a sheep in a "loving" manner, or having any number of vulgar things written there... The only difference between this site blocking some content and any other blocking content that they don't want is that rather than being blocked from the start, people have been able to do as they wanted for quite some time now, and are suddenly upset about no longer being able to.

Second, it's not that images won't be allowed on the site, but rather establishing a better means of separating things which are for a general audience from those things which might be offensive to those things which are particularly graphic in nature. As I see it, there were two problems with the adult section as it was run. The first problem being that anyone who knows how to lie about their age can gain access to not only see the images, but also comment on them, as well as the fact that ALL of these images were made viewable by ANYONE because of how a discussion thread was automatically created. Second was the fact that the vast majority of uploaders either didn't bother tagging, didn't know how to, or had problems doing so, leading to a daily assortment of very graphic images being present in the normal image section. Since these problems led to much of the daily flaming of images featuring anything other than tit shots, occasionally by people who were clearly under the mental age of 12, and since someone could just come right back to posting flaming after being banned, it was apparent that a change was needed. The change was to create a section specifically for graphic images, and to limit access to this section to only those who helped support the site, and therefore had something to lose for flaming or uploading illegal pornography.

Perhaps removing them from the latest pictures? Otherwise they are necessary for adult mods to describe what they do. It's not that they are art or porn, it's that people cry for screenies in order to know what the mod does. Especially cosmetic mods which make up most of the adult section anyways. I suppose required censoring would clear this mess of a debate up, but someone would debate against it.
