yamacraw
Hey everybody just wanted to ask a quick question since ive been unable to figure it out on my own over the last month or so of fiddling around with it. This modders resource has a spectacular set of eyes, and some are even supposed to glow if you install them correctly: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22667 However i have not been able to figure out how to get the glow portion working. What would be the proper method of turning this into a properly working set of glowing eyes? If any of you guys would be able to provide me with some insight i would be very thankful. Ghogiel
to make your own from a vanilla set up- open the eye nifs. edit the emissive color in the NiMaterialProperty to white. make a glow map texture. make sure it has the same file name as your diffuse map, except with the _g extension. make sure everything is in the right folders. yamacraw
Uhh that goes a bit over my abilities. Is there anyway you could break that down? Im still not even sure what Vanilla is to be frank.
yeldarb
Vanilla is anything that comes from the first Oblivion disc.It can also be used to mean anything made by Bethesda Softworks for Oblivion. To create a glowing set of eyes in the Constuction Set, you need a mesh and a texture to give the mesh color, What heavywaters is asking is "Does the resource have the glowing textures included, or do you need to create your own". Ghogiel is telling you how to make your own glowing textures with Oblivions resources and Nifscope?
yamacraw
Yeah the resource has all 3 files, the base file, the _n and the _g. However they each contain both eyes rather then just one. As far as nifskope, i have not the faintest clue as to how to use it. I dont even have it downloaded. The resource itself, when you just replace the eyes you have currently with the ones you want because they are two eyes rather then one just mess up the particular set of eyes you replaced. I assume the resource has created everything i need to make it work, im just not sure how to go about making it happen. For reference im trying to install a glow ontop of the Moonshadow elf race, in particular i have replaced the Abysmal Eyes - Brown with the resource's glow 45 eye. I had to do some photo shop work to make that happen even, but the eye itself will not glow im sure because the _n and _g files do not fuction as needed. The moonshadow elves race default _g file is extremely tiny (just a few pixels black box) when you load it up in photo shop so i have not been able to figure out what to do with it. yeldarb
You could install Elaborate Eyes and make the eyes playable for your race in the Construction Set,but you need to watch out for black/googly eyes with vanilla npc's. A Topic covering this has been added recently and the post made by Vagrant0 offered another solution that is worth exploring.EDIT in Oblivion Modification>Mod Troubleshooting "Google eye fix" by Antioche
Naktis
Download this mod it has a readme which explains how to add eyes. And glowing eyes usually glows in the dark so in the daylight they look the same.
