ecksile
Did you know your smoke detector is radioactive? It contains americium-241 which has a half life of 432 years and emits alpha and gamma radiation although more alpha then gamma. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americium
Elsarian
Thanks everyone for the imput that you have given on this topic. It is really helpful and I also have to admit, but not regret, that I have learned a hand-full of things from everyone here. It sort of gives me a new insight into Fallout and how the world really is in, well, Hell. Thanks to all who replied here and if anyone else has any thing new to add that is already not mentioned, then feel free to add a comment. I might even learn something from you too. Once again, thanks. Elsarian
falloutperson416
Yeah, the Fallout world is hell is'nt it.
Elsarian
Yes it is in Hell and sadly, I wouldn't have it any other way hahaha. Fallout is just not Fallout with the war-torn wastes and other goodies. But without them, then we wouldnt have an epic game such as this now would we lol? falloutperson416
Your right, it would'nt. But it is nice to get away from "Charon, get over here!" Or "Clover! You just spilled your guts out all over me"! And, the constant "Hey look! A brain!" And "Who's arm is that?"
Elsarian
HAHAHA I agree my friend. Fallout is a very entertaining game in many weird ways. Like once I kill a raider, I pull out my combat knife and start slicing off their limbs one by one. And I have no idea of why it is so fascinating. bben46
The first atomic bomb test, code named Trinity was at a site in New Mexico. Today you can safely walk on the site of the blast. Its is a crunchy glass like surface. Only 2 A bombs have ever been used in war, both on cities in Japan. today, both of those cities have been completely rebuilt and people live within 100 yards of ground zero in both cities. The ambient radiation in is higher than elsewhere, but not enough so to be dangerous. - that is after 60 years. The Fallout3 world is supposed to be 200 years after a war. But these are nukes far in advance of what we had in World War 2. OTOH if they are so much more advanced why is so much of DC still standing? Problems, problems.... ecksile
Id say there was just a lot more dropped not necessarily more advanced...I mean you do only need a skill of 25 to defuse one :P
