SkullKnight
Lol, people arent getting a very good impression of the patch on the bioware social site. I think Im gonna hold off on installing this until I see how things work out. Anyone install it and notice any difference (good or bad)?
usprivateer
In my experience, you usually get the folks that the patch didn't work well for going online with their problems first. However, having said that, I think I'm with you on this. In all honesty, my game is working pretty well. I tend to quit and reload about every 2 to 3 hours at max anyway. I've noticed that the game slows down and complex tactics tend to not fire well if I've been playing for an extended period. Very few crashes on my end and with the hotfixes available I seem to have the game in a version that's fun for me. Would be nice to get my daggers to base on dex and bows to link to stats properly without superpowering the enemy though....
Riddleofsteel
Yeah. Lots of stuff isn't making much sense at the moment. People are getting pretty annoyed with BW.
SkullKnight
1.03 was working fine for me, so I see no reason to install 1.04 until I know that it will make an improvement. Someone said that the 1.04 patch rolls back the scripting engine, which doesnt sound too good at all. Also, anyone use Qwinn's fixpack for 1.03? I had some crash problems after installing it, so I took it off. But Im willing to give it another shot if it seems to work well for others. It might have just been that I added it at a bad time or something.
Riddleofsteel
Maybe Thandal can help us. I downloaded Qwinn's fixpack for 1.03 too but I won't install it until I know more.
danscott84
I have been using the new patch for about the past two hours, and the only thing I have noticed is that my achievments that kept disappearing (namely Leliana's Song meaning no armor for me as well) are now working. Other than that, the hardrive is not working quite so much (down to 40% from 60%), so I am going to guess that might hint that the memory leak may be gone. I never noticed it on loading screens before because I am running at 6gb ram, but the loading screens are about the same as before, 15 seconds or less. I will have to run a different game closer to either the beginning or middle before I make a final judgment, but from the freeing of Anora to the final battle not much different now than before. Kaerar
Also you'll have to run the game for a few hours to notice the memory leak properly. I always found Lothering to be a place that triggered it ;)
SkullKnight
Anyone know if 1.04 will work correctly with Qwinn's fixpack? 1.04 doesnt profess to fix any of the things fixed by the fixpack, so I would think so, but I dont want to run into any problems if it doesnt work. ThingTheWiz
I for one will not be installing for at least a month - given the problems generated by 1.03 playing guinea pig is not my idea of fun
Sebiale
I will be playing guinea pig, mainly because my Stone Prisoner is having authorization issues and I'm hoping this will fix that.Right now I'm only running rather light mods and a few medium ones. Just started a new game too, let's see how many times it'll crash before I beat it again :P
