Copyrighted Material Warning

Hey all, I'm just suggesting this, because it's kind of perturbing to see every few days a new person banned over uploading copyrighted material to the website, so, I'm just thinking, why not place warnings not to do so in file sections such as modder's resources, utilities, music, and just about anything that might be a risk for copyright material upload-For example, since music is VERY popular, and just about everyone listens to it, it would be useful to put the warning in the music section that would pop up whenever someone tries to upload the file. For the people who're just doing their own thing, uploading good music, but don't know of the consequences, this would act as a major deterrent, but there would still be the people who would upload it despite the consequences-and from my understanding, those are the people who you don't want here.

It's in the TOS, and should be common sense. Most copyright issues are related to either uploading DLCs or ripped content... again, things which should be common sense.

Absolutely no copyrighted work is to be used without permission of the original creator. This includes content from other games, from DLCs, music creators or from other file authors. This also includes members from countries that do not recognise copyright laws (such as Russia).

I know this-But not all people read all of that, and as it is, about half of the people (Or more) I've seen uploading such copyrighted material, the copyrighted material is their first-uploaded mod, and the person who was banned today that was the case as well, so wouldn't it make sense to filter those who just didn't read it all out of the guys who're knowledgeably illegally uploading material?

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. This has ALWAYS been a rule here. It isn't something new like the image share questions. It has been my experience that most people that upload copyrighted content are well aware of what they do. Though it is nice to have these new ideas for the site, my personal opinion is that this ToS rule is a no-brainer.

More often than not the people who email me after getting banned for uploading copyright (for example) music often argue their case over several emails. Even after several attempts to tell them what they did was illegal and wrong they continue to believe they were in the right, with common misconceptions being "I bought it, ergo I can distribute it". These warnings would have no affect on those people and simply serve as an annoyance to those people who have a clue.

I do not want to turn Nexus sites in to a bubble-wrapped gauntlet of warning messages, especially for warnings that are simply common sense.
