That's pretty good DW.

Now that there's a compass, I can go and explore without worrying about where my base is. I'm on a journey right now to find the best place to set up base. So far, I've found a canyon with everything I need to sustain living there, but I want something more... epic.

Here is a great way to setup a fireplace in your elaborate home to take it to the next level:

And an illustration the prior author should have seen beforehand:

I saw a tv review of this and it really looks like my sort of thing. A looooong time ago before I stumbled upon my love of writing, I wanted to be an architect, that desire lives on in a total fascination with any sort of construction engine, that and, Notch is obviously a vastly talented developer, and we need as many of those as possible, so if I can support this project, all the better.

But I cant stinkin find it on the interweb, what's the URL?

OK: gave it a trial run and the base principle is excellent...

...I however am not. I really dont do well in confined spaces, even 16-bit utterly pixeled spaces. nonetheless I made a very large, zombie proof beach house with a swimming pool, underground sunlit garden, and a bacon machine that took in live pigs by minecart, burned them alive, then delivered the meat directly to the room with the table in it.

I then "struck the earth"(is that the right phrase?) and dug a huge mine. I found a gold vien that just kept going and going, in the end I excavated a chamber probably as big as a large aircraft hangar in about half an hour using a custom mouse that allows hyper rapid, fully automated clicking(for laughably fast mining) Unfortunately then Planet Mincraft sprung a leak and flooded the whole mine with lava, burying a lump of gold the size of a Boeing 7-4-7. :(

As for those of you with navigation problems, try this: First structure I built was a huge watch tower perhaps 10 blocks off the ground-I could see that from anywhere and always could find my way back. Make a land mark, and you wont regret it.

That's what I did, but you should put torches on the top or build a glass dome and fill it with lava. Easier to see at night.

I've gotten bored of Survival for now. There aren't enough updates to keep me interested for any length of time. I wish Notch would hurry up and add stuff.... >.>
