Hmm... I almost always use the same character, so when I make a new game with her generally I'll first go over to Vilvern and kill my way to the bag of holding (mod), then I'll go talk to someone about vampirism, and work my way to Count Hassildor and do the vampire cure quest (I have a mod that lets you do that while not being a vampire and you can get rewarded by becoming a vampire), and in the process of doing that I may kill the argonian for the blood required to finish the vampire quest, thereby opening up the dark brotherhood for me to join.

There's a reason for this, Amoramor. I'm sure that Bethesda put Vilverin there as the player's introduction to Ayleid ruins and as an early source of equipment and supplies. It's pretty straightforward, doesn't have any of the complex puzzles some of the others present, and is actually an excellent "loot dungeon". In addition, if you play your cards right, you can take it on at first level, right out of the Prison Sewer, and that's probably why it's in plain sight right across the lake from the sewer exit. You get your first taste of bandits, one melee and one archer, you get your first taste of Alchemy collection, and if you hang around you'll meet your first hostile magic-using character, AND ... you can replenish your magicka on top of the ruin, to boot. And all that's even before you go into Vilverin.

Anyone who doesn't make Vilverin a priority for a beginning character is missing out on a very early opportunity to buff up his character, and even if you don't install the Bag of Holding mod, Vilverin is a no-brainer as a first target. The Bag of Holding isn't the only mod to drop goodies in/around Vilverin, either, so modders have been aware of this for a long time. If you want a horse right out of the starting gates AlienSlof's Black Unicorn can be waiting as your first encounter after you swim across the lake, and he'll even help you dispatch the bandits camped, there.

I roleplay all my characters. My current Breton male is a very young immigrant from Highrock in the Wrothgurian Mountains region. Coming from a family whose trade is hunting small game and gathering he took a very small inheritance and headed for anvil(Alternate Start Mod) to seek adventure and wealth.

Soo... I hunt deeers until level 5 and try to gain the house for sale in the IC by then.

I used to just go straight to the Markets to buy equipment and sell loot and then on with the main quest, but recently I made a Knight, who went straight to do the Knights of the Nine quest, and he's been living around the Priory for awhile, keeping that going. I'm enjoying creating back stories for my characters at the moment, so the first thing I do after exiting the sewers is different every time.

First thing I do is clicking through all those mods screens.

Second is I kill the mudcrab outside the sewer exit.

Then I proceed to kill everyone in Velverin until I get that Ayleid Great Crystal, or whatever.

Then I sell the stuff in Market District.

Then I proceed to Ra'Jhan's house to make him as my friend so I can invite him into my companion group.

Then I make myself comfortable at druid's house mod, in the tree. I leave Ra'Jhan there for a moment, giving him high end clothes, so now he's rich. :D

Then I do what ever I wish.

Kill any mudcrabs or rats that are close to the water outside the sewer exit and kill them.

Swim over to vilverin and kill the two bandits and get a silver urn so i can gett he Midas Chest spell before i go inside Vilverin.

Become a member of the thieves guild so i can get rid of any bounty i might get while questing.
