Steampunk Clockwork Bow

Hallo!

I'm working, in my scant spair time, on a steampunk-influenced mod, and I was wondering if someone who has skill at making animated meshes would consider a little project.

What you do, is take a dwarven bow, and you retexture the arms (but not the hand-grip) this wooden tone: http://2.bp.blogspot...re_seamless.jpg

Then you make a rotating gear mesh. Just you average gear, not too thich, though, and texture it a rusty brown. EDIT: There're perfect gears in the Anvil Benirus secret door, which is already in Oblivion, so unless you've made a better gear, maybe that'll do.

Then you place a gear on either side of the bow, one pair just above the hand grip, one pair just below. (Ask if you need more explanation) Then you put yet another pair of gears to either side of the very top and very bottom of the bow; these will be smaller.

Then you use the chain here for the bowstring: http://www.tesnexus....le.php?id=28142

Here's a rough image (note: yes, the outline is not a dwarven bow. I'm only human) :

A gear pendant would also be very appreciated.

Ciao.

@Xeivous: Yeah, that dude had a whole bunch of spinning things, animated meshes aren't that hard, I hear.

@Uberman: Oh, okay. So we've already got gears in-game, no need to make new one!

Hm.. Not steampunk enough. Simply putting four gears on a bow isn't effective-looking, as I see something more of a combined gear and pulley system; the bow doesn't bend from the force, but instead two sets of gears on each side rotate on a set of teeth that's near the handhold, allowing the bow's arms to move back. As for the pulleys, they're similar to today's modern compound bows - They reduce the pounds of force needed to pull back the string, meaning that you can have nearly 80 pounds of force upon release, but only need half of that to pull it back.

Other ideas:

  • target sight and arrow rest
  • Bow can be "cocked" into position, seen by a trigger in the hand grip
  • Clock and compass (of course a clock - why else is it clockwork? :P)
  • visual "Swiss Army" addons - wire cutters, corkscrew, maybe a spork?

No, he doesn't.

This thread is for my request. That's why I wrote it. If I wanted people to make Ziitchs' request, I would have PMed him and said "Look, I'm s stupid and you're so smart, so why don't you tell me what I want?".

But I didn't, because I know what I want far better than Ziitch does.
