Vindekarr
I was reading the news this morning and I stumbled across something quite amazing. After tearing my eye away from the extremely cute images of a couple of newborn Liger cubs, I read an article about a skater who had pulverised his brain, causing it to swell vastly. Doctors, to save him, knowing he was a corpse anyway, sliced off the left and right sides of his skull and froze them. Miraculously he survived, the swelling went back down, and the doctors then re-attached the removed skull and replaced the damaged skin. He has since awoken from his coma, with memory loss and still limited ability to multitask, but able to walk, talk, and acting completely normal. The surgery he survived had a 5% survival chance. That's five survive from one hundred patients. S that really does go to show that murphy's law really doesnt always get enforced.

Vindekarr
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/health/7946908/man-saved-after-sides-of-skull-cut-off-frozen Thats where I first saw the story, if you want the whole thing. Just bare in mind that you may have to do some digging to find the real story, because asutralia's Channel is NOT world famous for telling the truth, but rather localy infamous for telling lies. nonetheless I've found this elsewere too, so it's not just a local thing.
