Mod Issue - From Steam?

Recently I got the steam version of Oblivion that came with Shivering Isles and the DLC and have been trying to move all my mods over to it. I use OOO, Unique Landscapes, Better Cities, Natural Environments, Deadly Reflexes, Colourwheel's Stock armor and clothing replacer, Colourwheel's sexy knights of the nine, Colourwheel's sexy female battle grunts, Alive Water, and the compatibility patches for better cities and unique landscapes. I am having a rather irritating problem with setting them up however. I am using OMM, OBSE for Steam, and BOSS. As far as I can tell OOO, UL, Better Cities, Natural environments, Alive Waters, and the compatibility patches work fine; but I haven't gone far enough to really confirm it. The others either partially worked or did not work right away. The armor replacer for example only replaced a few armors and clothing and only the shield bash and dodge from Deadly Reflexes worked. The battle grunts didn't work at all. To get them to (appear to) work I had to use OMM to create Omods for the armor replacers, deadly reflex, and battle grunts and load them that way. I am not sure why this is going, is anyone able to help?

Well, after that wall of text... My suggestions:

1) Reinstall said mods that aren't working, as you didn't do it right.

2) Use Wrye Bash and create a bashed patch - AFTER you use BOSS to sort your load order

3) Deadly Reflex sounds like it's working fine for you. So far, there is no horse-mounted combat (or whatever the third hotkey it has you link is for). The execution kills are done with your bash hotkey. Bash is done with..your bash hotkey. Critical kills (decapitation) is done, from my experience, at the % chance you chose on first mod load with a "power attack."

Here is my load order. Everything works perfectly fine, and I have bought the game off Steam as well.

I have tried to reinstall them; I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game trying to fix it. I have gotten it to work before when I was using my disk version so I am installing it correctly. I will try the Wyrebash suggestion. Thanks.

ColourWheel's Stock Replacer is just that, a "Stock" replacer. OOO puts new armor on the guards, so it isn't stock for ColourWheel to replace. It sounds to me like "not working" is not actually the problem, but just that things are not quite as you expected.

Back up as far as you can in the installation, then install mods one at a time. Check that it is working before installing the next...

I got it to work properly; as in how I expected it to. It didn't work installing it the normal way however. I had to use OBMM to create an OMOD based on the archive of the mod in order to get it to work. Inserting it in to the data file normally is what didn't work. I am just wondering why this is.

Yes I have the retail version but I have been using the steam version because it came with all the DLC for like £6 a while back..

Anyway, for a lot of mods, you MUST convert them to OMOD in order for them to work with Steam. I can only guess that Steam does a file check before loading Oblivion and forces the game to take data from the oblivion.esm file instead of mods.

But for some reason, making an OMOD forces steam to accept the modded files before the .esm.

Also, make sure you installed OBSE properly for steam, you must copy a .dll file for OBSE to work with steam, you must also run oblivion.exe and NOT OBSE Loader in the steam version.

Would you please post the OMOD file you created? (I am using the Steam version and would like to use Colourwheels without learning how to create an OMOD file.)

well thats just f-ed up.... i hate having to make my own omods, not that it is difficult but that after downloading a ton of mods its a pain to have to go back and try and make an omod after setting stuff up the normal way.

its times like this that i really hate steam, bastards dont even care about their customers anymore.
