Dilir79
Hmm, then I'm a lucky one too. Although I did journey through CTD / performance hell - and it took about 3 - 4 weeks before I found the solutions to all my problems. But now...... I can play 3 - 5 hours straight and can go weeks without one CTD full stop.Run about 45 mods at the moment + heaps of texture only mods.FOOK2 v1.1 (latest) as the major mod.Tried many of the big mods (e.g. FWE, MMM, CotW, etc) and these are require some massaging before you just jump in (merge patch, load order, etc)Also and I'm going to go out on a limb here but I swear that weather mods will increase your CTD rate - can't prove it 100% but I know with some of the ones I've tried they have definetly caused some issues especially when your fast travelling or moving indoors / outdoors. Well i took another bullet :/ and reinstall my FO3 again ......, going to install my mods and do the masterupdate and pray to GOD this is my solution =====EDIT=====Looks like after doing the FO3MaasterUpdate my CTD it's gone O.O, i don't wanna jinx myself but so far 4+hrs straight and no CTD and i notice my FPS has gone from 35 to 45-55ish , this is amazing ~CHEERS~

Deleted1764493User
As i wrote in my thread, my Fallout 3 rarely crashed, but now it crashes at the "Please stand by" screen. If I load the vanilla game with the official DLC everything's fine tho.
nosisab
May not be a solution for many but is an old known issue with 4 cores CPUs. Make sure to have in the fallout.ini the following lines bUseThreadedAI=1 <--- make it 1 if it's 0 thereiNumHWThreads=2 <--- This one may not exist and so must be included AND make sure the value is 2. Both goes in the "General" section of the ini file.
silent93
I haven't crashed at all since I added the mod to purge cell buffers, and CASM to handle my saves. this is the cell buffer one Purge Cell Buffers - Fixed
soot00
I was running Fallout 3 real good for the past month. Had FWE, Amy Wong, CASM and RTS going. During this time never changed hardware, different mods yada yada. Just finished playing last night saved and quit. I tried to resume my play session today and am crashing seconds into my save. Since I have CASM decided to try a different save slot and they all crashing. Fallout 3 is just a buggy piece of code, it is what it is.

It'll find most inconsistencies related to CTD. http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html
