What I've Heard About The Elder Scrolls V

I'm not sure if this is true or not, so please no complaining if I'm wrong!

But, I heard it will take place in the Summerset Isles, which is the homeland of High Elves, and that it might be called "The Inferno City" after that book. Unfortunately, it might be released until November 2011.

An article I read on Planet Elder Scrolls states that it will be made partially (or fully) by Armor Games. It will be called "Alinor", which is capital city of the Summerset Isles. That's where it will take place. This info is the most genuine I've seen of all. To be honest, I don't think it will be The Infernal City, I mean, what are the chances of them copying an authors idea? I'm not sure it would look too good for Bethesda, not bothering to do their own storyline... And yeah, unfortunately It will be 2011 at the earliest, as "Brink"(Bethesda's Futuristic Shoot'em'Up) is set for release in early 2011. 5 DAMN YEARS SINCE THE EXPANSIONS!

I don't know my way around most of that site, could you post a link please?

I heard it will be set in Skyrim.

And I know for a fact (as in: I've seen job postings from Bethesda on CG and Game Design sites) that Bethesda is looking for people with MMORPG experience.

About the Alinor thing, that was an Aprils fools joke, link here.

Nothing has really been confirmed about TES V yet, it's just rumors so far.

Ah I see, figured it had to be something like that. UESP said there was going to be an announcement of a new game at quakecon but It seems they decided not to show it.

This is the only news I heard, you figure it out if this is true:

QUOTE from UESP.NET

Could This Be It? — August 14th, 2010

The only important news to come out of QuakeCon so far this year is a statement from Todd Howard that Bethesda has a new project in development and that it has been in development for two years.

Previous rumors had suggested that a new installment of The Elder Scrolls would be announced at QuakeCon, which finishes on Sunday, August 15 this year. The last installment of the series, Oblivion was released over four years ago, so a new game is well overdue.

UPDATE: In a EuroGamer interview released on August 16, Todd Howard gives a few more details. "One thing I can say is that from when you first hear about it to when it's out will be the shortest it's been for us. It's pretty far along. When we show it, we want to show a lot, because there's a lot of game there to play right now.

"You know, if Pete Hines came in and said, "I want you to show it," I'd be like, "Okay, I'm ready to show it." But we've just decided for now not to yet."

The only thing we can all know for sure is that we won't be playing a new TES game anytime soon. I only hope they will do a better job with the next tes game and mayby work a little more on the storyline and make it less randm and linear.

Well I have something to add too what you just said Pushkatu: Do you, or anyone else here viewing this thread, think that Bethesda's TES games are getting worse? I mean you look at Morrowind and then you look at Oblivion and then all you can say is," Well yeah Oblivion looks beautiful {Which it does} and all, but wow look at all the things Morrowind has! All the armor types, all the long quest to burn through and the amazing main storyline!" And many, many more.

We have all probably said something like that at one time or another. I mean Bethesda did start making Oblivion with technology that was not even out. All the graphics were new. All of everything was basically brand new and so is that what caused Oblivion to be so "small", or, "rushed"? Or was Bethesda just being lazy with this game? I mean Oblivion is an amazing game! I absolutely love it! I have been playing it for four years now and am still playing and enjoying it!

But why all the bad that comes with it?

These are just random questions that I have wondered and still look for answers other than my own. So if anyone has anything they would like to add to what I said then feel free too, or hell, if you want to take a shot at answering my questions, then I would be glad to have you answer them haha.

Thanks,

Good point, no one seems to recognize how much Bethesda put in Oblivion. It was a really risky for Bethesda to put new technology in this game, a lot of things cold go wrong, project could maybe stopped or something really strange things could happen (in game's engine) once Oblivion was released. I think that we all should be thankful because Bethesda made such a beautiful game that became one of the favorite games for millions of people, like me. Game is still active and popular.

Surely, there are things that Bethesda should add and fix, but they can't fulfill everyone's wishes, so, I don't have too much expectations, I just want it to be exelent game and I can't w8 for it to come out. :turned:
