Can I make a modding (Mod Patch) request?

Hello everyone, I have been trying to find a good mod for crafting and so far I have found a few. The one I like the most gets into a lot of detail on crafting and really looks good, but the thing that eats me alive is that it has a chance of failure system that makes crafting very impractical...

In short, what I would like is for someone to take this mod and tweak it so that there is no chance of failure, but rather a skill requirement in order to craft. I find this issue very difficult because there are lots of situations where to craft something you need exceedingly rare materials that you simply cant afford to throw away. If this issue could be fixed it would mean the world to me...

Basically if someone could I would like to see a skill requirement added to each item and remove the consumption of the ingredients if the craft cant be done. Also, but maybe a bit more complicated, I would like to see the skills for all the various crafts removed and all the crafts to fall under the Armorer skill maybe that could be made as an optional feature for those of us who choose expedience over realism.

If someone can do this for me, or something related to this I would be very grateful...

This is the mod im looking at.

I'm about to give you a nasty surprise such issue you think there is doesn't exist and has never existed, because the success of crafting is based on the skills your character has when you attempt to craft something.

What I mean is that you need to practice those crucial skills in-game. For example, let say you want to enchant a weapon or armor and you try to enchant it yourself but fail. Hiring an enchanter is out of question since you cannot afford to pay an enchanter for the enchanting service which is expensive. So how do you get a better chance to enchant something for yourself without spending a furtune.

The answer is to train the Enchant skill by using enchanted clothes (amulets and rings included) or armor anytime or recharge the enchanted items in your inventory with filled soulgems and I recommend using Petty Soul Gem for this purpose for three reasons.

1. You can be certain of that Petty Soul Gem will always end up in loot

2. They're cheap to buy from vendors and almost vendors has Petty Soul Gem (most enchanters always have)

3. Almost every creature that exist in-game from level 1 fits into a Petty Soul Gem (max 30 enchanting points)

So practice and more practice is the key to have a better chance to succed whether you want to craft something or want to enchant a ring by yourself.

 Once I paid to have a ring made to increase the enchant skill by 100. about 3 out of 4 attempts to recharge an enchanted item with petty gems failed... Thats more than half failure with max skill. To put it plainly, the game is broken in that regard and it should simply be removed...

And honestly, I find it very offensive that any time I ever ask for anything on the internet what-so-ever, that I am met with people telling me the opposite of what I already know to be true and telling me to do what I already know wont work...

I find it very condescending and an insult to my intelligence whither intentional or unintentional...

So why instead of giving me a yes or no answer do you make suggestions for something that I already know wont work and dont want?

The chances of someone else modifying a mod just because someone's asked are very low. Regardless of what mod it is.

The chances of someone modifying one of the mods by Max a.k.a. ~NOBODY~ is practically nil. The guy is one of the most skilful scripters there's been on the Morrowind scene (this mod, Ultimate Galleon, Pegas Horse Ranch). Very few people are capable of modifying his mods, so you've an incredibly small group of people who could do this. The chances that one of those will see this request are again very low (most modders hang on on the Bethsoft forums whilst this place is mainly players). Finally, that hypothetical scripting guru has to decide to spend the hours needed to make this happen. Basically, no offence, some random guy on the internet asking for changes to a very complex mod.

I'm sorry but I think you'll have to use the mod as is or learn to alter it yourself.

Ah, the old familiar sound of 'no one gives a crap at all' Its nothing against you personally, its just that my low expectations of people is never really disappointed...

Welcome to life  There are some good bits. Somewhere.

And if by your reply you were hoping I'd do this, sorry but I'm not one of those people who could alter his mods. Well, I could change them. They wouldn't work but I could change them.

Dude, you have a lot to learn about how things works in Morrowind and I am 100% sure that every enchanted items, except for enchanted items with constant effect, will always re-charged itself overtime in-game.

So you're incorrect about the game is broken in that regard and Morrowind has always re-charged enchanted items like that without the Morrowind Code Patch (MCP).

I actually feel sorry for you - YOU are the one that doesn't care about other people and are trying to use the old "Oh woe is me - nobody cares about poor me" to shame people into doing what YOU want by making them feel guilty. Guess what - it's not all about YOU.

Modding is NOT about doing what other people want. It's about making MODS that you care about, then sharing FREELY with other people. Trying to use that nobody cares about poor me is BS and you probably know it - now grow up and try to at least act like you appreciate the hard work that modders put into what they create because they do care about their mods - and obviously you don't.

The basic rule of modding is if someone else is not interested in making what you want, you are free to learn how and do it yourself. That is exactly how most modders got started. They didn't know how when they started either - but they learned as they went instead of badgering other people to do it for them. Most experienced modders are happy to help you learn, but don't expect them to do the work for you.
