star wars over haul question.

looking to do a starwars over haul, but right now im working with oblivion due to its magic and race options. magic = force powers.

I would prefer fallout 3 engine for starwars but i would need a way to add different races than just human, and i would need a way to add some sort of force power system. powers like :force push, telekenisis, lightning, etc...

 

is this possible or should i stick with oblivion?

 

challenges for oblivion: no guns, no dismemberment!

- guns can be overcome, dismemberment maybe not....

 

challenges for falllout: nor force powers, no races

 

like oblivion: easy force powers

 

like fallout: less modding for buildings and futuristics items, dismemberment for lightsabers and blasters, darker more mature tone...

Why would you think you can't have different races in fallout. It is WAY more versatile than oblivion in that regard. In fact you pretty mush have to resort to force equiping body suit armor meshes in oblivion to get different races.

 

as for force powers. there is no magic system.

i wonder if i could make each power an invisible gun. IE force lightning: an invisible pistol that shoots lightning, that way the projectile looks like lightning. and the ammo could recharge.

and force push could be a meele weapon with a tricked range.

force choke/crush could be an invisible pistol with invisible ammo

force speed and defense could be a buff.

thoughts.....?

there is a firestarter mod. That iirc was going to atempt to have a decent anim for the shooting flames from the fingers. cept the modder got shafted by a "copycat" who made a poor copy of it, and this for whatever reason pissed the orginal modder off, so he set the mod to hidden and it never really happened. the copy cat mod might be about. I could find it.

 

Or if you are quite lucky you might beable to find the wip thread on bethesdas forum...

 

anyway he was using an invisible mine or something for the fire.

 

do similar. replace with electricity asset instead of flamethrower particle. = darkside lightning

there are certainly ways around that. all of these mods are wipz imo, as it takes little time or skill to set up a custom weapon.. that has no model and reuses all vanilla assets. I think a mine was used orginaly because it actually does a throw anim, that would would nice for throwing a fireball, but not so much for darkside or flamethrower projectile

You can in theory make a new anim for the "cast" idle and attack. because there are a few unused weapon animations. in fact I would suspect there might be another way, probably involving Fose or something. I would probably have to ask saiden about possibilities that game will allow for.
