killstorm37
Ok, for some reason whenever i convert a file to nif in blender then go into nifscope to change the texture path, after i save as in nifscope, i go into the construction set to put it in game, only to find that it IS NOT THERE.so at this point im thinking, ok maybe its hidden, so i show hidden files, still nothing. Ok, ill use search to find it in my hard drive, i type it in it shows it, so i click on it and it tells me its a broken link...Ok, i go into nif scope and open it [what do you know its there].go into the Construction set it isnt, what the heck... i have never had this problem when i was on xp so i have no clue what is going on. Some days the file is there some times it isnt, but it alwayse is in nifscope. and once i get it into oblivion it is alwayse in game regardless if i can find it in my files.i have no idea what windows 7 is doing, if any one knows what is going on id' be gratefull for your help. Thanks.
throttlekitty
The .nif is not there? Where did you save it to? The game will only read .nif files from the [path to game]\Data\Meshes\ folder.

LHammonds
I'm not sure if an incorrect version number would "hide" it from view in the Construction Set but are you sure the internal version number of the NIF file is the one compatible with Oblivion? 4.0.0.2 IIRC, basically, verify that the "Oblivion" button is depressed on the NIF Export screen. LHammonds I am pretty shure but ill check, when i am able to get one ingame it does work so i think its the right type, but no harm in checking. LHammondsit shouldn't. I think you just get an error on load if it's the wrong ver.4.0.0.2 is like MW ? Ob is 20.0.0.5 iirc
throttlekitty
I'm having trouble thinking of much here, so I'll ask for a bit of clarification. Your opening post leaves a few things out, I think. i go into the construction set to put it in game, only to find that it IS NOT THERE.So, you go to load a .nif file in the CS, navigate to Oblivion\Data\Meshes\Weapons\KS Mods\, and the file you are after does not appear in the list? -I don't think that the 'select a .nif file to load' dialog can filter anything BUT .nif, but check along the bottom that it's not filtering to another file type. Ok, ill use search to find it in my hard drive, i type it in it shows it, so i click on it and it tells me its a broken link...This is a lot of its. Windows explorer gives you a broken link to the file in question? I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "broken link", can you explain this? Sukram96
You need to run blender/nifskope as administrator if you want to save your file into the program files folder.
