Maharg67
Vindekarr, I hope that India does achieve a miracle at the last moment but it seems increasingly less likely to happen. As for people getting 'off your thread', such decisions need to be made by the facilitators. All one can do is report.

Vindekarr
Thank you Vagrant. Well, today my opinion changed. My nose is out of joint of some comments the Indian side made: First, a press conference saying that the quaters, which have dogs and monkeys living in them, the pools to be used in the evtns, which have mosqitoes living in them, and the raw sewage drippin out of the walls, are all actualy the west being snobbish, and that we should all just accept "what we are given". Racist prat. Secondly, a press conference by the head of the Indian games commision that was nothing more than a childish rant, blaming the west for "conspiring" "against India" He also stated that western media reports of the pathetic state of affairs were part of that, and that India had actualy done a perfectly good job. Childish fool. Simple fact of the matter is that India has failed monumentaly and set a terrible precedent for the region. This is an Indian problem, due to failures by Indian companies, the Indian government, and Indian policy. However, they did not fail because they were Indian, they failed because of neglect, immaturity, greed, laziness, and a desire to do it all for cheap. And any country could fail in that way. Nationalism has ntohing to do with this. The failure this time was in India, but it could be replicated anywhere. Afterall, shoddy construction contractors arent an Indian speciality... This thread was to debate the 2010 commonwealth games, not nationalism.
