ambria
I had a go at voice acting for my own mod yesterday, it was pretty terrible.I'm wondering what people think, would bad voice acting be better than no voice acting?
WalkingDED
I think I would prefer subtitles. Really bad voice acting could ruin immersion. If you're not going for a serious/immersive experience then I think you can get away with the bad voice acting.
Deleted31005User
I agree with Walking DED that if its only a small part that needs the voice acting then it doesn't really matter, like lets say one npc with a few lines to start a quest or something. Yes, bad is better than nothing. Here's an excerpt from an article I wrote a while back: Better Not To Do It, Than To Do It Wrong (Voice Only)And lastly, make sure that your voice acting is good. Choose a voice actor that has a voice that suits the role, and has good quality equipment. A great example of a mod with thousands of lines of unique dialogue, with practically no voice acting, can be found here (it's an Oblivion mod, and the best mod I've ever played in any of TES games). Anyway, but yes, this is the case. However, there are plenty of willing volunteers who will voice act for you. Check out the Voice Actors of Skyrim thread, it's pinned in this subforum.
