Illiad86
Ah...wow lol I haven't seen a motherboard with AGP and PCI-E in a long time. The card will work in the PCI-E x4 slot, but you won't have it's true power, it will run at 4x instead of 16x. Haha, you have to get a new motherboard that's for sure...that's quite an oddball there...slots for DDR and DDR2 RAM, don't think I've ever seen that before lol :P If you are getting a new computer, you will need a new PSU just to be safe. 500-650W would be enough :) 5830 says it needs a 500W PSU minimum....but it doesn't use THAT much power. This shows Power Consumption: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/EAH_5830_DirectCu/26.html Peak power, a 5830 uses 146W...it's crazy how much less power they use yet they are so much more powerful. My 7950GT used 190W on full load :P haha But you should get a 500-650W PSU for your new system regardless :) Extra is good ;) Edited September 26, 2010 by Illiad86

mcole254
Just know that if you go with the 5770 you will not have DX 11 support you will need a 5800 series for that, good luck with your decision. Matt

JimboUK
I have Intel Pentium D925 3.0GHz3gb ram 667mhz110gb hddbut my motherboard only supports pci-e 1.0,i dont know if its 2.0 and 4x(instead of 16x)I will buy new pc on December.I was thinkig of buying a hd5770 and a 500gb hdd.I have the full metro 2033 but i play it on my 9500gt only on 1280x720 with everything on low,not even physX.You think i should buy instead of 5770 a gtx460 768mb or a hd5830?I will use the card that i will get on my new pcThe full game is scary, but if you watch videos of it when you buy it you aint gonna scare. What catalyst did you used? The GTX460 is slightly quicker than the 5830 but not by much, probably best to grab whichever one is cheapest.

Erik005
Have you seen the news about the 67xx series yet. They say they are going to have the performance of the 5850/5870 for the price of the 5750/5770, it might me worth waiting for.

Erik005
You should look up benchmarks for the games you play and base your decision on those, some games have weird preferences for either ati or nvidea. If your going to choose between the 5770 and 5830 get a very good 5770 instead of a cheap 5830.
