What's wrong with my load order?

I've played Skyrim for a while but never started modding until a few months ago. I don't know everything but I know sort of how to use Wrye Bash and TES5edit. Basically, Skyrim was running fine earlier today. Then all of the sudden it crashed. I thought, oh whatever. I'll just start it back up. But now everytime I do it crashes at the loading screen. I figure there's obviously something wrong with my load order, but I'm in no means an expert on these things. I've used LOOT to check and bash patched what I could....but still no luck. Any help?

I assume you meant to post the Skyrim one not the FNV one, so that's what I used :)

So I have a question though, is it not possible to change the load order in Wrye Bash? Like do I I have to go into Nexus and change it then re-open Wrye every time, or is there some other easier way?

if Wrye isn't letting you change the load order it's because you have another program accessing it at the same time as when you have Wrye open, this is the only time I have seen this occur, for some reason it's almost always because Mod Organizer has it locked

Hm...I don't have MO. I'm just trying to drag and drop my mods. Is there some other way I'm supposed to do it?

Oh and I just checked my saves folder in Wrye Bash and nearly every single save I have is red. There are a few at the very bottom that are orange but for the most part they're all red. Is this just because of my messed up load order?

And actually while I'm there would I just be able to uncheck all the orange/red mods I have and fix the problem that way? I don't/won't do that, but just out of curiosity would that work?

if your saves are red you can completely forget about using them

 

The drag and drop issue only happens when you have another program accessing the game and remember, it could be any program, even the game itself

Hmm....okay thanks. I guess I'll just give up and start over completely then. It's a little disappointing but I was getting to the point where there wasn't as much to do anyway so oh well. Thanks for the help! And just out of curiosity, any idea as to what may have caused the saves to turn red? I know it's a mod, but what makes it to the point where they become unplayable? Surely it's not just a simple mod conflict, is it?

Saves turn RED...a mod is not enabled that the Save is expecting.

 

Look to the Right side of Wrye...in the box you will see a list of mods that were enabled when the save was created....to get the Save going again all you need to do is enable the mods the are red in the list.

IF all the mods ARE available you can also...right click the header and "load Masters" this will enable the mods need automatically.

 

When on the saves tab, right click on the top header and select....List mods....it will list the missing "masters"

 

as long as you install all the mods the save relies on, it will work again. I completely rebuilt a 200+ Load order using this method, and the save worked again.

Dude - you are a LIFESAVER! I reinstalled/redownloaded any needed mods and now all my saves are orange! I guess all that I have to do now is reorder all the mods like what Gromulos's guide said, and I should be good to go then!

Seriously man, thanks a TON. I was definitely bummed about having to restart a new save. I knew I'd get over it eventually, but now I don't even have to! :D
