PurplePigeon
I did not realise they would stop me using GECK getting my MOD up and running before the release though, but that makes sense I guess.Well, they are not specifically stopping you from using the GECK, probably. The GECK just uses some libraries from the game, which may not be unlocked until the release.
Valasthor
Yeah. You were right cause the fose team has changed fose to provide compatibility with russian and steam versions. The quote was definitely spreading wrong information and the information on fose.silverlock was right. New Vegas is definitely compatible with fose if the folder name has been changed and its customized.
BababooeyHTJ
Serious mods for FO3 required access to the .exe proper, something Steam prevents. It's the reason FOSE-based mods don't work on the Steam version of the game unless you crack the .exe first.Calling BS on that quote. Not that there should be any problem with New Vegas, since there's no difference between retail, Steam or Direct2drive versions. Really? Here is a quote from the OBSE readme. You might want to figure out how digital works. If Steam didn't provide any support they would also be listed in the readme. OBSE does not work with: Oblivion 1.2.0.214 This was the official downloadable 1.2 patch. (as of v0017)Oblivion 1.2.0.410: the Shivering Isles beta patch.Oblivion 1.2.0.201: the Shivering Isles DVD build.Oblivion 1.1.0.511 This was the original Oblivion that OBSE supported. (as of v0017)Oblivion 1.0: the original DVD build of Oblivion. The Direct2Drive version of Oblivion or Shivering Isles. The Oblivion.exe provided by D2D is encrypted, and we cannot patch it without breaking the encryption. We will not do this, as it is illegal. The Impulse version of Oblivion or Shivering Isles. The Oblivion.exe provided by Impulse is also encrypted. The FOSE readme FOSE does not support:Retail DVD and Steam build 1.0.0.12 (the original pre-patch version of Fallout) - if you have this version, update to 1.7.0.3Russian DVD version of Fallout 3 (it uses Starforce encryption on Fallout3.exe)Direct2Drive version of Fallout 3 (it encrypts the Fallout3.exe) - download the game from Steam if you would like to use a digital download servicePolish DVD version of Fallout 3 (it uses SafeDisc copy protection on Fallout3.exe)
