Deleted1205226User Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I have the opportunity to have a separate physical Hard Drive for game installation. C for System, D for Games.I never did that before so I may use a few advices...Things you'd like to know:- new Hard Drive is a SSD- I'm still under XP (yes!)- Fo3 is a DVD installation (no steam version)Things I'd like to know:- Do I need to move the MyDocuments folder for C to D? or somewhere else (there are more HD)- After installing and patching FO3 where do I install - Fose? - Geck? - FO3Edit? Thank you for any tip, advice or pointer. :)
BlackRampage Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Leave your MyDocuments where it is. You can even leave your savegames where they are. FOSE is to be installed as normal. (in the main FO3 directory)Same for the GECK.Same for Fo3Edit. I'd have put the OS (Win XP in this case) on the SSD and dump everything else on the HDD btw, but that would require a complete reinstall of windows which might not be preferable.
2much4l1 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I'm pretty sure FOSE, GECK and FO3edit all need to be installed in the FO3 folder with the launcher.
Deleted1205226User Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Thank you for these answers. :) I might be ready for finalization soon then! Btw, there one SSD for OS and Programs, another for games only, and two HD for Data.I hope I made a good choice for set up ...
BlackRampage Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Ah, so the OS already was on an SSD too. In that case all is well.
Deleted1205226User Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Yep! Just reinstalled, and it all seems to run well. Only the Game and Modding setting to do and I can be back to work!Thank you for the tips.
