jonboy
Wondering what games are and are intended to support profiling in NMM 0.60. Is it Skyrim only or Oblivion/FO3/FNV also? Maybe Morrowind? May not use this as I have switched over to Mod Organizer, but if it support games MO can't may have to reconsider.
Graftington
In response to post #22135034. #22136349 is also a reply to the same post. After installing large files (Interesting NPC-s does it for me and is the largest mod file I use) I get this issue. The program has a general lag to it after installation- scrolling, adding files, commands, button presses etc all have a 3-4 second delay to them. Problem stays even after restarting the program. If I uninstall Interesting NPC-s the problem goes away and am able to finish modding my game with other files just fine. This is just with the 0.60.0a build by the way, the stable release works fine. Lokie7
This sounds very exciting, with all kinds of possibilities. I'm just about done with my new PC Build and look forward to downloading and trying this out. I won't DL it until I'm ready to use it so you have a more accurate count for the DL/Help ratio mentioned in the article/post. ( I read the entire post) ;). This is a Really great concept. Thanks for all the hard work you all do to make OUR "Mod" lives easier. On that subject, thanks for the "Backup"( for restoring previous version et. al.) feature that you included as well. Yakumounr
In response to post #21986184. #21986639, #21986744, #21987694, #21989439, #21990029, #21994814, #21995034, #22104524, #22104714 are all replies on the same post. It is correct, it just includes the files that are hardlinked. After all if you copy that folder to a separate disk it would be taking up that "~20 GB"
FaRihr
Im confused, how is it meant with the backup "on the site"? So, fiddle through a common setup (eg STEP), save the list with the downloaded mods and the installation order up on the servers and then being able to restore that setup with one click? That would be bloody epic! *dreaming* "Oh darn, PC crashed, files lost! Please, NMM download the last backup list, and follow the download and installation order for the mods. I come back in two hours ..." Else, it just implements the main feature of Mod Organizer, so I would just stay with that one.
ArcumLucis
In response to post #22126334. Has it ever been bad? It's very useful for trying mods out.
bben46
@Scout - what you are asking is for Nexus to become a cloud storage site for 8.5 million Nexus users. That would mean having to add a LOT of very expensive servers AND to maintain a new kind of code base just for the convenience of a few people that don't consider backing up their files important enough to do it on their own. I suggest using one of the sites that are intended for cloud storage. They already have the servers in place and the code. Here is a site that gives the basic info on some of the most popular. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cloud-storage-provider-comparison,3905.htmlUsing one of these would make it simple to automatically back up your list each time you make a change. Many of these have a limited FREE amount of storage of from 2 to 15 Gigabytes - far more than is needed for your mods list. You could even back up other important files that are not games. :woot: However, if what you want is for Nexus to do the same thing with all of the actual mods you downloaded themselves ( download mods from Nexus, then re-upload them to a private storage space that we provide $$$$$ :pinch:) - you will have to look for a site that can handle 10+ Megabytes ( not Gigabytes) And be willing to wait an hour or two every time you update the stored site. Stick with just backing up the list - OR, (Best option) use a second hard drive for your own local backup.
