Neryz
I would like to clean a bit my PC but i am afraid that it will break my Skyrim installation. I am using Mod Organizer. This software 'thinks' that .esp is incorrect file extension. Have anyone tried to clean own PC with this?

cdcooley
I've used CCleaner without problems. If you don't have the Creation Kit installed then .ESP may be an unknown extension to your system because the game itself doesn't register it. Neryz
So should i install this creation kit or just delete these registry keys? Btw. if it is official software for creating so why it is not included in installation? I have only png files from it in Wrye Bash directory so i don't have this software. Edit: Ok so i can download creation kit which is included into high resolution texture pack dlc. Oh man, 4GB with my archaic 2Mb. Painful. I hope it will work. cdcooley
Creation Kit is an easy download through Steam, but if you don't need it then there's no reason to download it. You can delete the ESP registry key or leave it. It isn't a problem, just a little extra windows fluff that CCleaner knows isn't important to keep. (Since the game uses ESP files but doesn't register them Windows creates a dummy entry for them when you run the game.)
BlueGunk
I have used CCCleaner for years and it has never given me an issue. I regularly use it to clean the Registry and you have the chance to make a back up before the cleaning action anyway. It has never affected Skyrim, even when some registry entries are about the game. But I would not clean without doing the backup - that's essential. Mod Organizer ghosts the Skyrim set-up to put the mods in, so I suppose it might throw up this message. I don't use Mod Organiser - I found it highly confusing and obtuse. But I know it's popular.
soupdragon1234
Yes its safe I've been using it since the year dot. But should i delete registry keys or no? Thanks for quick response btw.. If you decide to delete the key it asks if you want to make a backup, choose "yes" if you're worried about it. Wait a few days and if there are no problems then delete it. Otherwise just double click the file, it'll restore the keys to the registry again. PaulNash
In this case, I have already worked out my strategy because I have often encountered such a problem. First, I reboot the device so that all the systems are reborn and start working again. If this step does not work then I try the second option which has always helped me with this scourge. One day I found it on the Internet https://thinkmobiles.com/blog/best-registry-cleaner-tools/, this tool helps me get rid of unnecessary garbage in my internal memory. This step allows you to ease the tension in applications and they open without problems. That's why I like this tool
