Add Comment Box on All Posts Tabs closing after a few seconds

Just tried to comment on the Posts Tab of

SN=69 - Unp Clothing Merchant by Foaman=24684

When using the Add Comment link to make a new comment, the Comment Box on the Posts Tab closes after a few seconds, making new comments impossible.

A quick random check of other games

Black and White 2 Mod Evil Within

Morrowind Mod Better Morrowind Armor

Shows it's a site wide issue, the reply method doesn't have this problem and full forums don't, as I'm using that now.

I am finding other random and intermitent issues with the Forum though and checking the Bethesda Forums as they are also IP Forums.

Shows this is just a Nexus issue.

The issues I've seen are when duplicating a tab from a mid point in the Tabs History (Forward and Back Options) the Duplicated Tab is on the latest Tab, technically it's the defaultt Tab of the Backwards/Forwards system, when you actually start to use it.

also intermitantly the "In response to post" links, take me to the first page of the forum Thread, instead of the post it's meant to link with.

Why has this suddenly started to occur?

The only other change I've made is to apply a Firefox update today, now its

Firefox v35.0.1

It was Firefox v35.0 from 17th Jan and all worked fine then, I made Posts Tab Comments on 23rd Jan without issues, they were written in forum and pasted into Posts Tab, though replies and not affected by the first issue, the forum issues were not apparent either.

Thatt means Firefox v35.0 may still be the change that triggered it, but Firefox v35.0.1 is definitely the prime suspect.

Summary

Firefox update today, was Firefox v35.0 from 17th Jan and now its Firefox v35.0.1.

That it's only Nexus affected and not all sites, suggests something in the Forum/Posts Tab system is the actual issue.

The cause appears to be a refresh/reload defaulting to the start point of that mechanic/thread, as such all the issues appear to have one specific underlying cause.

Same issue here too. Running newest Firefox and the usual plugins like Adblock, Disconnect me, Silverlight, Adobe and the newest Java version.

I wanted to post a comment on Zerwas1 new parallax mod site.

It's possible to circumvent the issue at moment by posting a few words before the comment window tabs out again and then completing the post by using the edit function. The edit window stays stable.

PS: Notifications aren't working too now, but maybe this is the consequence of the "can't-post-because-comment-window-tabs-out-issue"...no new comments -> no new notifications.

I have the same issue. Using Chrome Version 40.0.2214.93 m.

Cannot comment on the most recent Supporter image on Skyrim Nexus. Tried to log out and clear domain cookies, to no avail.

The text input box closes in about 6 or 7 seconds after I click 'Add Comment'.

The same thing happens in Firefox 36.0 beta. I've managed to post a comment by editing it first in Notepad++, and then pasting it into the text input box before the time was up.

Just restarted with all addons disabled (Help Menu Function) and comment box issue was still present, so not looking like Addons.

As Sigurd44 says workarounds exist, as well as the methods mentioned, if you don't know the forum and Posts tab are the same content, so just using the

View Forum Thread

Link above the Sticky Post, at top of Posts Tab, will take you to first page of that mods Forum.

Can confirm the Hotfix appears to have solved these issues, the intermittant "in response to" link reset has not occurred in my tests and the always repeatable, comment box and duplicate tab history resets are gone.

Thanks
