Charon
 All these tricks with summoning strong monsters all at the same time sound like cheating to me. Umbra is a tough guy and desrves honest battle, 1 on 1, no flying around and showering him with arrows, no minions. You and him - that's how it should be. Steel against steel, face to face. I am now level 19 - will go to fight him soon. My daedric katana against his sword.I tried on the level 4 - was beaten to dust like a boy. And just 3-4 levels ago I tried to kill lich in the Firemoth again - oops, <_< that was definitely not my day. He shredded me to pieces and I could barely half-kill him. By the way - male without a father regenerates his health
ThetaOrionis01
Well, everybody has their own style of roleplaying....and my style is playing a total coward who hides behind summoned monsters :P Which has got me to level 25 or thereabouts..... Brain versus brawn
Pob
I caned Umbra with my sword in HtH. Was about level 30 odd at the time (I just stumbled down a mountain on to his head). Didn't think he was that scary. Thoiught the goblins in mournholds sewers where worse.
romeoalpha42
stupid goblins, i hate them. to take on umbra or other hard guys when your below 20, all you really need is skill in your weapon so ya dont miss all the time, and quality or exclusive healths to stay alive. i find enchanted weapons helpfu, just pay attention to the race of the dude, like dont use frost damage on nord or poison on argonian, stuff liek that but yea fun stuff. Charon
Yesterday I killed him! Finally. Was level 23, removed boots of blinding speed to have a fair fight. Boy, I reloaded at least 10 times :) Umbra needed to hit me only 4 times before I was dead  , and I had 290 or so health!. His speed is faster than my when running, gosh, he is tough!I hit him several times with my daedric katana and ran meanwhile healing myself and shooting my bonemold bow. The only thing which saved me is that he was stopping for about a second each time an arrow hit him. Finally I finished him off with the sword. Alas, on the level 23 being Redguard custom figther I was not able to kill him in a "propper way" without running and healing ;) Even using Adrenalin rush. And my armor class is 171. Next tough guy on the list is lich from Firemoth Fort. But that one will wait until the level 30 or so.
Mikhail
u were level 23. !!!! U should have beaten Umbra when u were level 18,and u are using daedric katana heh i used to use daedric dai-katanabut now i use warhammer it feels like it will never miss. but i dl a weapon called Zanbatao it was on Samurai X or Final Fantasy 7. I wanna know who is this Lich in firemoth? How can i find him? Is he better than Umbra?
Malchik
To find the lich go and talk to the guy in Seyda Neen who first gave you your instructions for Caius Cosades and take it from there. You have to have the official plug in of course.
Charon
Yeah sorry Mikhail, I wanted to kill him on the level 19, but didn't even notice as levelled up to 23 so I tried on 23 B) . Anyway - I have no doubts, on the level 19 I wouldn't have been able to kill him in an honest way. Lich in the Firemoth - only appears with the official Bethesda plugin. And yes - he is tough, Umbra stands no chance against him. Did someone actually kill this Lich King? And on which level if yes?
The Eclipse
i can reduce the lich's health by about 1/10 with one hit with an imperial warrior with a steel saber, its a total *kittie kittie*, but then he kills me with a lightning bolt ( level 1 ) Errr, sorry to embarress u all but the skeletonking/lich is actually level 15 !!!!!!!!!!! With a steel saber and the special shield but it is immune to a few things.... so basically the mage is useless. by the way, umbra is level 20, with 400 hp and 500 fp so... uh...
thanateros
Well seeing as I play a mage it only makes sense to use a spell that will certainly get the job done to my liking. Or I could always use Syphon Soul (see post on favorite spells) and just not give him a chance at all of retaliation. Against enemies that have immunities against magic and enchanted weapons I find that it is easiest to always have a non enchanted weapon in you inventory, or to just have something with absorb health (if the monster reflects it nothing really happens). The lich was kinda tough, but never doubt the power of a lightning shield spell on a ring or something, even though they don't last that long, it really helps reduce the amount of damage you sustain when fighting elemental type creatures.
