cerebus23 Posted October 29, 2010 Share Posted October 29, 2010 someone really needs to code in texas hold'em poker course i am sure amaking the ai play decent would be a nightmare, but some no limit hold'em would be a hell of a lot more fun then black jack which seems with high luck you have to be a complete moron to lose. and make it so you get banned from black jack you could play poker which the house does not get a huge cut of anyway, it is mostly player vs player money with a small rake going to the casino. I have a 5 luck, but have extreme success at blackjack, as in winning at least 4 out of 5 hands, and very poor results in slots and roulette. Though if you know how to play the games IRL (black jack, Roulette, and slots) then you can rack up some caps very quickly. But just make sure you don't do it too quickly. Black jack is more about the rule of probability, just like in 21, yes it's card counting, not it's not illegal, yes it's frowned upon and no you shouldn't rip casinos off for thousands and thousands of dollars. You just have to know the probability of something showing up on the hit/deal.However unlike an IRL game, the luck stat does have something to do with the hands you get delt. at luck ten it's rare that you will lose, at luck 7, it's a bit harder, at luck 5, it's the usual game of black jack, anything below and it's a crap shoot. Roulette, you just double your losses, every time. It's slow and you won't ever make a lot of caps fast off of it. Slots, are slots are slots are slots. Even at luck 10 it seems at though everything is completely randomized, and for putting it 1 that could get you 25 is nice, it's also still random. (or a very very complicated formula.) The absolute best way to make money in NV is the old fashion way. Sell your loot, and PICK UP EVERYTHING. Yes I said pick up everything. Everything off of the enemies you kill. They're all worth caps and there is always a container you can use for temp storage, you might have to make a few trips to empty your storage but the time will be worth the caps. inless you're in the middle of the mojave, which will most likely not so populated with loot anyway so you'll be worrying more about food water or health then where you're going to put your loot. good luck and happy hunting! Theres lots of games in vegas than slots blackjack and roulette. Also they need a back room poker game for the high rollers. Or in this case caravan. Roullet is kinda pointles and one of the biggest sucker bets on the strip- other than the slots. The only time i bothered with roullet was when i was was 20 or 30 caps shy of being baned from gamling and had time to bet 200 or one number 14 or 15 times then reload when it didnt hit. 7k caps on one win give you a lot of patience for reload cheating.I think the game should have required you to gamble at least once for the storyline. Like to see Benny you need to have a hot streak at the tables and be accused of cheating so they take you to see the big man in a sound proofed room. Something like that.
