TobiTobsen89
And again I have to thank you Moraelin. Maybe we won't get a real roman armor, but at least we have good weapons.

Maybe we won't get a real roman armor, but at least we have good weapons. Don't give up hope. I'm sure some texture modder will make chainmail eventually. Although, I had a thought: Maybe if you helped Caesar in the main storyline, his troops will gain access to New Vegas' industrial capabilities and use them to make metal armor and weapons, regulating equipment among his troops, etc.
Moraelin
Actually, after examining the mesh, Caesar's own robe could be pretty good for a Lorica Segmentata kind of armour. That fur is actually made of several flat layers which kinda look like the layers of the shoulder pieces on one of those. Not sure about the chest, since it would also be layered, but it might actually be possible to make a lorica segmentata with just a new texture. I'd still say it's beyond my skills, though, but maybe someone else can use the idea.

Moraelin
Well, just to make it clearer, the problem isn't as much just dropping a chainmail texture on something in GIMP -- if nothing else, there is a free set of chainmail textures on the Oblivion Nexus as a modder resource -- but the bigger question is: on what? I can't seem to find a mesh that's just a tunic. Anyone have better ideas for a mesh to misuse?

Moraelin
The problem isn't as much the texture, it's the mesh. But distributing either one from another game is both a copyright violation and against the rules here.

Sorry to bring that up.
