xxXTitanxNFG
So.. I've came across a few mods that are really good.. But still need a few tweaks.. and since it's so "dreadfully" hard for a mod author to put an hour more into a project that took months to make... I think once a mod authors updates in the mod comments informing it will no longer be supported by him/herself, that the mod should from that point be open to anyone who wants to take it over.. And I'm not sure how this site works.. nor do i know if a mod author can get copyright protection over an mod file that's modifying existing game's file's... But if they can't and the owner of this site will allow it... it should defiantly be considered..

xxXTitanxNFG
No, what i was saying, if mod authors can't claim legal copyright protection then there should be site rules allowing anyone to take over development of a mod once the creating authors claims to have stopped supporting the mod. LadyMilla
Unless the mod author declares the mod free-to-use and sets the permissions on the mod page accordingly before he or she quits modding or actively supporting the mod, the only way to take over an abandoned project is to contact the mod author and ask for permission. The Terms of Service is very clear: "All files uploaded must have been created by the uploader or used with permission from the original author of the content. Such permission must be indicated in the Readme text attached to the file and/or on the Description page (or in the Description field for images), and must be obtained in advance, before uploading the file. If you cannot provide proof of consent then your file will be removed and your account is likely to be banned." This is extremely unlikely to change.
