Meckon
If I add mods to my game will I still be able to get the reward for completing the game on hardcore or will Steam think I'm cheating? I ask this because I haven't beat it yet and I'm recalling the problems Windows Live had with mods for Fallout 3.
NuclearDestination
Yes, you will still be able to gain achievements. All of them. Modding is not cheating by the way. Even if you add a mod that gives you every single thing in the game with top stats and lets you complete the final quest 10 minutes into the game just for the acheivement it is NOT considered cheating by Valve. Oh and fun fact - Steam doesn't care if you DO cheat in Fallout 3/New Vegas. Just press ~ to open up the console and cheat till your heart's content (Though I don't, ruins the game) and Steam will not care one tiny bit. SOURCE: I've used the console like 500 times since getting the game and have a huge amount of mods, I unlock achievements all the time

Ya, I use mods to make the game harder, more realistic, or to do things that I think should be included.
htomsirveauxjr
Challenges can be won, but Steam achevements are disabled when the console is used, for any reason. Becuase of console use, I lost Up and Comer, The Whole Gang's Here, Walker of the Mojave, Globe Trotter, Jury Rigger, etc etc.

Maybe it depends on the command? Noclip or other unstuck commands probably get ignored, while God mode and infinite ammo type cheats get logged and prevent certain things from being triggered? htomsirveauxjr
I'm not sure, but I think I will now throw a monitor at NuclearDestination. Unless he can answer to why I got the achievement for reaching level ten and thirty, but not twenty.

Unless he can answer to why I got the achievement for reaching level ten and thirty, but not twenty. Indeed, calling HAAAAAX on NuclearDestination. AFAIK console commands disable achievements for that play session. To re-enable Achievements, quit to Windows and fire the game up again. Please note that this only matters when the achievements are triggered (for example, if you've disabled Achievements when you've beat the game, hard cheese. However, if you save, quit and restart just before you beat the game, you should get the acheesemints).
