The easiest way to get the ranger combat armor.

This is the easiest way I've found out to get the Ranger Combat Armor without losing reputation or karma. :)

Okay. So, go to Camp Golf, go to the Resort House just to the north and use your Mister Sandman perk to steal it. Make sure you spend at least 4 minutes jumping around like an idiot trying to hide from ED-E and Boone while you do that, though. :P

I know that Boone gets annoyed by everything you do against the NCR, not sure about ED-E as it has nothing to do with the NCR

or just leave boone outside or tell him to go back the lucky save yourself some messing around and get to the killing/slaughter.

 

land mines also work pretty well as long as your hidden if you cannot be seen you seem to not take any hit to faction standing since none can see you to blame you, might also negate karma hits but not like karma is a big deal soon as you steal some junk or slaughter some "innocent" killing a few gangers or legion and boom your maxed out again.

 

yea i tried it only catch with mines or plastic explosives, is you have to find one alone solo, and put down enough explosives to make sure you kill them outright. if you do it in the big bed rooms you alert the whole room when they go off, and they will look for you even if hidden, tho you will get no faction hit but they will shoot you if they see you, if you get one alone and put 4 or 5 c4 around his bed then go into a nearby bathroom or some off room that is isolated and trigger them off he gets boomed and you can walk out go to the room take the stuff and leave. no faction hit no karma loss etc.

 

mines for whatever reason get eaten if you place them and wait using the timer, so c4 is the safer option cause you can place it and explode it on the spot with the detonator. else you have to time them waking up and use mines cause it seems a bug just gobbles up mines via the wait option. sad because c4 does not give you the nice slow mo blow up view where mines will when they get blown to pieces.

Of course, if you use explosives, there's the chance you'll ruin the armor. I wouldn't consider placing land mines to be easier than just simply using Sandman or reverse-pickpocketing a grenade or something along those lines.

Puts Ranger armors in the Ranger Safehouse, As you need to do a lot for the NCR to get in, I'd say that these armors are well placed.

Actually , I didn't even know what I done for Hsu to give me the safehouse key, I just first time talked to him and he gave me the key :P
