Daz models into Fallout 3 or NV

Has anyone tried using a Daz model in Fallout? If yes how would one go about it?

I'm referring to a body model,say Victoria 4 for instance.Thanks.

Edit:I got one into Blender and when i try to export as nif i get a message that states,i must disable envelopes, well i'm new to all this so i don't have a clue.Googled the message and the explanations i found are as hard to decipher as the original. So i'm left scratching my head.

I've been a fan of Daz3d Studio3 for a long time and have created some pretty nice characters from V4's base using a combination of the sliders and morphs, i just wish it would export .nif's. :wallbash:

It is very doable, but not legal to do so. Most Daz/Poser content must be paid for and the authors usually have a very strict policy on changing the models or using in other programs.

Ah yes...didn't consider the legal aspect.

It would only be for personal use,of course and...well..i did pay for them.lol

Good morphs aren't cheap, which is pretty much all they are using V4's base.

However,i understand and thanks for taking the time to reply.

I'll keep plugging away trying to figure it out,i might accidentally learn something.

If you're ever in the neighborhood we have a noobish Daz thread here.Fun program S3.

I'm very much a Daz user myself, though I use Michael 4 and other male characters mostly. For your own use, that's fine, though. I've done something similar for my male characters, but obviously, I can't share them - and not least because I bought the original outfits for use in Daz. :)

Daz is addictive and an expensive addiction when you're like me and have to have every model you come across.I have M4 as well, have you seen the White Wolf yet?His face is very well done.

White Wolf

If i can ever tear myself away from Daz and FalloutNV i might just get some reading done in the Blender tutorial i found here.

As AlienSlof said, it can be done but legal issues get in the way "if" you plan to redistribute. It is OK for personal use if you DO NOT distribute the file.

However, have you thought about taking the vanilla Oblivion model, importing it into Daz3D, doing the slider morphs and then exporting that back into Oblivion? That would be perfectly legal to upload and distribute. And as a matter of fact, I helped one such member that did this already: >> will insert link when I remember the name to search for <<

No, it started out of curiosity i wasn't planning on sharing the results for i wasn't sure if it would even be possible(many more polygons in Daz models) but it was good that you guys pointed out the legal aspects for i might not have even considered it.

The vanilla body to Daz is interesting i'd like to hear more about that when you get the chance.

Thank you.

Ah, I remembered the name now...Tigersan...with that, I was able to find the mod: Amazon Race and the thread that started it all. The thread starts off with a Daz3d model being used and eventually the vanilla Oblivion mesh being ported to Daz, modified and then exported back to Blender and finally Oblivion.

I don't use Daz and asked if Tigersan would create a tutorial on the basics of what was done to achieve those results but I don't think the tutorial was ever made.

Interesting read,a lot more to it than i had expected.

I was thinking chop off the head and hands,a simple change of format and a new waste-lander is born but i thought wrong.lol

Daz is more like a character creator on steroids than a modeling program.

Very intuitive Daz,not so much Blender,so i have some reading to do.

Thanks very much for your time and the info.
