Gameplay is better than TES5

I'm well on the Skyrim bandwagon but I've been blown by New Vegas since buying it from Steam last week. With all the mods and DLC add ons, this game is absolutely one of the best I've ever tried. And the difficulty is FINALLY inline with games I used to play in the 1980s.

The Dead Money quest is one of the most epic experiences I've ever had. Extremely intricate plot with many puzzles to solve. Not just hack and slash without consequences.

Also, the first time I ran into the Legion had a scene where a survivor of the massacred town runs out screaming he won the lottery. Turns out he's the only one they spared from crucifixion and execution. That's genius script writing.

Sure, the graphics and models aren't as good as Skyrim but the gameplay is just so engaging.

I'm guessing Fallout 3 is just as good? It's a shame they didn't merge the two.

Fallout 3 is a Bethesda game and as such it's a mile wide but only an inch deep, it comes nowhere near New Vegas in terms of depth or writing, it's not as shallow as Skyrim and it's fun with the right mods but it is different to New Vegas. It is possible to merge FO3 and New Vegas, google "A tale of Two Wastelands", for want of a better description it basically installs FO3 as a mod for NV.

Yeah this pretty much sums up my feels on Skyrim, I played it for like a month and then ran back to FNV lol.

What Skyrim has better then FNV IMO:

Horses

Inigo

Pretty to look at

Thats it, everything else is below par compared to FNV and even FO3. Again IMO.

FO3 is VERY different from FNV, but that does not mean it has nothing to offer. Writing and quests I feel are better then Skyrim but alot less then FNV, you should still play it though even if you can not get TTW to work.

I tried Skyrim for maybe an hour or so before I just got bored. Yes it did look nice but that's about it. Just not my cup of tea messing with spells and such. I prefer a good modern killing rifle, handgun or grenade with enemies equiped against me equally as well... Personally, I like FO3 a bit more than FONV. The most driving reason is the map especially the DC Ruins and the subway systems. I really dislike the Vegas Strip. I only bother with the strip if I'm quest driven. The rest of the map is ok though Hoover Dam for all of it's glory is lacking. Also I don't really care for the main story line in FONV. I enjoyed FO3's better... Probably because in FONV it involved going into the Strip too much. Did I mention how much I dislike the Strip?

Yah, but you could easily drop a hundred hours into the game while hardly visiting the strip at all and STILL complete tons of quests and do most things. The beauty of NV's quests is that you can do most in any way and in any order (barring bugs). They're all interrelated and relevant to each other because of NV's faction system.

Yes that is very true and basically what I actually end up doing along with using a few excellent mods like New Vegas Bounties 1 & 2 as well as A World of Pain to just name a few. But it would have been nice if the Strip offered anywhere near what DC ruins offers especially with a mod like DC Interiors. Just a bunch of casinos is boring for me. But maybe it's just me...

Bethesda can take the time to build something like the DC ruins because they make little effort with anything other than world building, the DC ruins look good but what's in them? ghouls and mutants to shoot. This is the problem I have with Bethesda, they build stunning worlds but phone everything else in and while FO3 is nowhere near as bad as Skyrim it does suffer from the same problems.
