Immersive Magic

So I find magic being available from character creation to be a little immersion breaking. I just... I don't much like it. So I came up with a concept that I need help creating into the world of Skyrim. I want to make magic based more on the use of Staves, Scrolls, Enchanting, and Soul Stones.

You see in Elder Scrolls every spell is treated as a big deal, and by rights should be. I mean you have the ability to reach into Atherius and wield its power to shoot fire from your hands AS A STARTING CHARACTER. That isn't cool.

My solution to this is to create a mod that completely Overhauls the Mage skill trees. Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Restoration, and Enchanting to be exact.

Enchanting would act as your "Understanding of Basics of Magic and Principle". Enchanting makes it so you can enchant objects, create scrolls, and charge enchanted items. As the skill itself increases your enchantments become more powerful on objects and as you progress you gain access to perks that let you make better scrolls, enchants items better, and gives more charges for soul stone use.

The School of Magic would operate mostly as they do already, but would focus more on the creation of Staves and Books, as well as their specialized form of casting. This would complement the implied lore of the game where Mages spend much time studying and even after careful study can not always master a spell.

Creating Scroll with require a Perk, a Quill, and a Roll of Paper.

Creating a Staff will require a Perk, 1 Firewood, and a Soul Stone of strength based on the level of the spell.

Petty - Novice
Lesser - Apprentice
Common - Adept
Greater - Expert
Grand - Master

Creating a spell book will require a Perk, a Quill, a number of rolls of paper based on the level of the spell, a soul stone with strength based on the level of the spell, and special ingredients based on the spell itself.

Lesser - Novice
Common - Apprentice
Greater - Adept
Grand - Expert
Black - Master

Schools would also each give their own "Ritual Spells" that you spend time collecting resources to cast but have long term or even permanent benefits. Examples would be like collecting body parts to have a permanent undead follower as a Conjuration Ritual, or collecting ingredients for a permanent armor bonus as a Alteration Ritual.

Oh and the price on all spell books should be increased drastically. You can still buy them at the college but even a beginner level spell should break the bank. The mage who made the book spent a lot of time and effort to make you that book, and will expect adequate compensation for their time.

I have the ideas but I am not familiar at all with creating mods, if any of this sounds unrealistic let me know, if you think you can help make this mod please let me know. If you like the idea comment letting me know what you think, maybe suggest a friend if you have one who can mod.

If some of this does not make sense with lore please let me know, I want the idea to improve Immersion and really set the idea that Wizards and Mages should be a feared thing.

This pretty much perma, the gameplay overhaul made by the same dude who made Skyre.

It has staff and scroll crafting and removes starting spells. Not everything is there, but it will make you happy.

Also there is a mod called living takes time. It make learning spells take one hour in-game. You make it lower in the mod mcm. So nuts.
