@deltaxghost - The new site community manager position will NOT be able to override laws. :rolleyes: The stuff from other games is COPYRIGHTED that is a LAW and not open to interpretation by us. Allowing people to violate copyrights is the quickest way to destroy a site. That is what happened to MegaUpload ( remember them? :ohmy: ). As we don't want to see Dark0ne being raided by the UK version of SWAT, we will continue to follow the law in this whether we like it or not. :yes:

Why not strike a deal with copyright holders? For example, they allow Nexus users distribute copyrighted assets on the Nexus site in exchange for a small royalty, or an ad space on the mod's page.

Some developers might even agree to a free non-commercial distribution of their assets to increase their brand's recognizability, or just out of common decency. :)

There are already a lot of developers/publishers who allow their content to be ported (http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Porting_content).

We have in some rare cases contacted developers/publishers about rights to use assets, but again, this is in rare cases. Whether or not we will do that more often in the future, I can not say.
