regentimo
As the title sais, I'm looking for some kinda guide as to how I'm supposed to troubleshoot with Papyrus logs. I can ofc upload my modlist or whatever might be needed, but, I'd really like to get some knowledge on this subject. I'm running 90GBs of mods so I will likely run into more problems than the current ones and would love to be able to fix it myself as soon as any issue occurs. Edit: Well, I figured out what the issue was, a frikkin follower mod.. :p Edited April 15, 2015 by regentimo
Vudou
This mod is good for viewing your papyrus logs: Papyrus Log Viewer Papyrus logs don't always help or show you what's going on with your Skyrim if you're having issues. The papyrus logs will record errors and problems even with a vanilla Skyrim. While running many mods, it's best to keep the logs turned off during normal game play. Only enable them when you want to troubleshoot. Turn them back off when you're done and back to normal game play. They use up resources and cause bloating. [Papyrus]fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0bEnableLogging=1bEnableTrace=1bLoadDebugInformation=1 Is it just the Logging or the EnableTrace and/or LoadDebug as well? regentimo
Well I'v gotten that far but I want to be able to know which one of the issues is making me CTD. Becasue I really can't see what should be causing an issue.. There is currently like a Follower with MCM menu and HelmetToggle and some other crap, that shouldn't make me CTD in my opinion :/ Maybe I could post my current issue and someone could explain what I'm supposed to be looking for, in this case, and try to understand that?.. What information is needed in that case, like just the log or like loadorder and that kinda stuff? Edited March 6, 2015 by regentimo
Vudou
Papyrus is extra scripting that you have running that you don't need running if you're not using it for trouble shooting. If you're just playing your game as normal and not checking the logs for issues you're having, there's no need for them to even be on. Any of them. You're running scripts that don't need to be ran. @Regentimo: How to ask for help.
regentimo
Thank you for choosing to interpret that as me saying that I don't need help.. -.-What I'm trying to get help with is to understand wierd stuff like "Cannot open store for class "follower3dnpc", missing file?" or "Error: Unable to bind script QF__010191D9 to 00_andragon_DialogueFollower (0F0191D9) because their base types do not match" with no additional information. I can't understand jack when reading stuff like this.
Ghaunadaur
Just forget about this. Papyrus log isn't a crash log. You will hardly find the cause of the crahes by looking at the log file. Better get a program to monitor your hardware utilization regarding RAM/VRAM, CPU and GPU usage.
regentimo
Ahh, alright. That does help quite a bit. I was under that impression. But now I'm even more confused.. How am I supposed to troubleshoot it if there is no issue with my loadorder? Is the only option to reinstall it and just accept that my game somehow broke? myztikrice
You mentioned none of your problems and only the papryus log which won't help. "Cannot open store for class "follower3dnpc", missing file?" Means a record in Interesting NPCs was given a script called follower3dnpc, but the mod did not come packaged with the script. or "Error: Unable to bind script QF__010191D9 to 00_andragon_DialogueFollower (0F0191D9) because their base types do not match"Means an incorrect type of script was attached to something it shouldn't have (like a script implementing quest stuff placed onto an npc) Both are for the mod author to iron out and have nothing to do with crashing. regentimo
So Papyrus logs are just used to troubleshoot scripts not working then? (and not CTDs)Btw those were just 2 examples, I'v got about 100-200 errors in the log, depending on if I'm using TES5Merge Patch / Bashed Patch, and none seem to be from the same mod as far as I can tell. This is why I wanted to know, um, like how you managed to understand that "follower3dnpc" thing.I simply couldn't accept that there were no way to troubleshoot my CTD if my loadorder isn't a problem and the fact that there shouldn't be any incompatability issues between them. What I had installed recently was PaMa Patches and I finally felt like starting to use TES5Merged and BashedPatch which should make my game more stable, but somehow that broke my whole game.. I just can't understand it.. Trying to reinstall every single mod now, hoping that it magically solves my issue.. Hate doing that over and over with 300 mods...
