RatcatcherOfKvatch
Thanks to my diligent looting efforts and my alchemy skills unrivaled in the field of feather potions I've amassed a fortune of 400,000 Septims. However, I'm still new to the game (relatively) and after completing the "Main Quest" I've found an even bigger problem: what to do with all this money? Is there anything I can spend it on? The vendors don't even sell Daedric equipment unless I sold it to them first. Since arrows with spells on them are items I can't seem to make myself I'd be very much in the market for those at virtually any price. Somebody somewhere must make them or they wouldn't exist, right? Is there anything I can spend my money on that I can use? Shepherd's Pies are a good example of what I'm talking about. Oh, and I'm new here, so hello, world.
nosisab
Houses... still not enough... You can befriend all beggars all across Cyrodiil and beyond ... trice and still not enough...You can try to find a mod that make a money stronghold (sorry I don't know the correct name, it's that place Uncle Scrooge uses to dive into the money) and practice swimming there... Man, you right, without modding there is almost nothing to do with the extra septims gathered trough the game.
Jagermh
Lots of mods add armour to vendors all over cyrodiil, you need armamentarium, tona's mod store and realswords. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29090http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18417http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=72638
Smooth613
I suggest using a mod to overhaul the default economy. Otherwise you will be filthy rich on every character you play. I use Enhanced Economy and love it. There are so many options for customization you will definitely find something that works for you. I personally like to change and most of the time double all fees and charges for various services. Such as recharging, spells, crime, repair, training, etc... I also at least triple the price of all houses and use the house tax feature of Enhanced Economy. This requires you pay taxes on your house each week based on a percentage of their value. You can adjust the tax rate to your liking as well. Basically you can do whatever you wish with the economy and it really adds some much needed depth to this aspect of the game. majikmonkee
I have a similar "problem", I have over a million septims after completing the main quest, all the side quests I could find, and then SI and KOTR. I did buy all the plug-ins like Fighter's Stronghold and Wizard's Tower, and the upgrades cost a bit, but it wasn't enough to put a dent in my fortune. I wish the game worked a little more like some MMO's I've played where you can share your fortune between characters. I have a pathetic dark elf evil doer who I'm keeping at level one (makes killing off foes with a single arrow so much easier) who's having trouble making money quickly, and she can't touch that million plus fortune my main character has no use for. Came in handy when I wanted to buy a 12,000 septim armored elephant mount the other day. =D One definite advantage I've found to lots of money is it gives me more time to be picky about the loot I grab. I don't need to take every bit of glass or daedric armor from my fallen foes, I just take the things I might use or need. The days of having to make trip after trip for loot just to sell are over. Interestingly enough, I have a purely evil character who uses the Sauron armor and mace and kills all but a few select characters, and I've found basically no use for money with him. He just takes whatever he needs, and the Sauron armor and mace are superior at level 2 (I don't plan to get him any higher than that) so there's no need to save up for armor or weapons. RatcatcherOfKvatch
I've figured out what I want to spend my money on: Magic arrows. I know they exist. I know somebody somewhere has to make them. They're expendables so they're also a money sink. We should be allowed to buy them, maybe from a place similar to Rindir's Staffs. Teleport portals. To make it interesting you can't even start the project until you've bought every house. Then you can install one-way transport portals in every house linking to another, clockwise or counter-clockwise until the house at the "end" of the circle links to the Imperial City house. The crappier houses might need expensive building upgrades to support the teleport portal. Because of the groundwork already laid by the Frostcrag Spire upgrade it might be simpler to make the destination of every portal the Mage's Guild of the next city in the circle. Half the work is already done. Could you buy a portal to FCS itself? It makes sense you should be able to. Maybe Rosethorn has enough space to hold 2 portals?
