MidbossVyers
I know about the stat reset dangers associated with changing your race with showracemenu. But what if the only changes you make are that of name, hair, and eyes? Is there any race reset risk there? And because uesp doesn't have a big WARNING label next to showbirthsignmenu, am I correct to assume that there's also no reset risk with the Birth Sign changing? majikmonkee
There is no reset risk as long as you don't submit the changes and just save your game with the menu open. Just always look twice before advancing menus so you don't submit the changes by accident. Think it's the same for the birthsign menu.
Balakirev
Showracemenu, as I recall, often caused issues in Morrowind. Just be sure that before you make a major change, you do a save. It never hurts to cover your butt in this way.
MidbossVyers
Now, what would the risks be if I changed my character's eyes (just the eyes) using showracemenu after becoming a vampire (to both the face and the game data itself)? The reason I asked was because of this: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/268169-vampire-eyes
LFact
Now, what would the risks be if I changed my character's eyes (just the eyes) using showracemenu after becoming a vampire (to both the face and the game data itself)? The reason I asked was because of this: http://www.thenexusf...69-vampire-eyes I don' t think you can change vampire eye to other via 'showracemenu'. Even if you can do that, it may not affect your vampire character. If you don't like vanilla vampire eyes, you can grab eye texture resource, replace eye texture with stock vampire eye texture. Or, you can nuke it, for there're some mods that disable vampiric facial features(like Vampire Race Disabler).
MidbossVyers
I tried using another vampire eye mod. It didn't seem to have any effect on anything. Also, why do vampire faces occasionally reset to the race default? It's disturbing and takes me off guard. As for disabling vampire face features entirely, that would make all vampires seem TOO "mortal", losing the immersion. ub3rman123
You can completely nullify the stat resetting effects of the ShowRaceMenu by opening the console before you hit Done and make sure it's left open as it closes. As for changing other things, just opening ShowRaceMenu will reset your stats on closing it if you use neither saving nor having the console open when it closes. MidbossVyers
What would happen if one were to make cosmetic (name, hair, and eyes) changes to a vampire character?
TheSwedishPancake
If you don't want your stats and skills to be reset, do the following: Make your changes.Open the menu (ESC).Open the console and type "save (savename)."Type "load (savename)." This should work. Make a backup of your save first, though.
MidbossVyers
But what about the results of trying to adjust a face and name while a vampire?
