Charon
 Hmmm, let me think....... *Still thinking ...........* Bingo! Morrowind comes to my mind :D Maybe buy yourself Tribunal and Bloodmoon? Install couple of mods? Also I would suggest Fallout 2 - it's classics, never gets old - super!
Dagger of Symachus
Well I hear that all those fancy looking final fantasy games for the ps2 are good. Ok, since I've never really played it (but I hear it is really good) is Never Winter Nights. But that may be strategy or rpg. But I do hear that it is good. Also good that I hear (though it hasn't come out) is Fable. Though personally that just looks like a Morrowind copy. But lots of people are looking forward to it. If you have a gcn, then there is a new Final Fantasy game for it, but I'm too lazy to figure it out. But if you just go to rpgs at www.nintendo.com then It should have it there. If you have gba/gbasp then you Golden Sun game is highly acclaimed as is it's sequal Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age. I have them both and they are very good. But if you care about the plot (which is surprisingly good  ), then play Golden Sun first. If you have N64 then well... uh... well... oh yeah there is one rpg (but it isn't the best). But if you want to waste away a few weeks of your life then there is Quest 64. I have it and it isn't even close to as good as Morrowind. If you have Sega Dreamcast then you should go with Phantasy Star online. They also have this for XBox and gcn if you like massively multiplayer online rpgs. But make sure you have an online connection. I have one for gcn and I don't have the online connection and it isn't that fun  . All old nintendo systems (nes and snes) there are a bunch of old Final Fantasy games. I can't get too specific as I don't really care about those systems and don't own them. There are more Phantasy Star games for I think the Sega Genesis and some other old Sega systems. But sadly they aren't online, since they didn't have that then. And if you are really young (or immature  ) then there are all those old Pokemon games for the game boy. But seeing that you play Morrowind I doubt that you would play such an immature game. Hope this helps. Dagger of Symachus
Switch
Yeah I've also reached that stage Tiel. I've looked, and sadly, I've found nothing good for PC at all. All I can recommend is Neverwinter Nights, that's pretty good, and very easy to mod (even easier than Morrowind, though maybe not with as many options). As for consoles, if you're thinking of buying one ever, I'd say PS2. It has the largest supply of RPGs out of all the "next gen" consoles, and they're pretty good too :P for that I'd recommend Final Fantasy 10 most of all, but there are lots of great RPGs for it (that's just the best one I've found so far). Anyways, hope this helps you some.
thanateros
Neverwinter Nights is deffinitely a good investment, so is Icewind Dale if you are into the DnD style of RPG; another series is Baulder's Gate. Final Fantasy is always an option, there is just recently a patch out for FFVII so it will work on Windows XP; either way it can't be more than 20 bucks, which will get you gobs and gobs of gameplay. Can't go wrong with some SNES titles, being FFIII and Secret/Legend of Mana. Another unlikely Nintendo RPG that is rather fun to play is Harvest Moon. You also have the Zelda's on N64 which are fantastic. Ultima Online, Heros of Might and Magic and Everquest are good PC titles as well
Peregrine
Agreed on neverwinter nights. The single player game is good, but it really gets to be a great game once you get multiplayer/parties. And if the premade adventures don't have what you're looking for, there's even an option for realtime DMing the game. Of course if you don't like D&D type games, you might find it a bit slow.If you're looking for a mindless time waster that calls itself an rpg, Diablo2 isn't that bad. Its nowhere near the quality of Morrowind, but its good for wasting a night or two. Or ten without sleep.....
Switch
Ah yes, Diablo 2, that's another good one. Cheap too. Of course, it barely qualifies as an RPG, and expect to meet some lamers if you go online with it :P But it had me addicted for about a month or two. So pretty good value for money, even if it was 2 months of addicted mind slavery. :P
Pob
Yeah Diablo II is good and its expansion is good. Can also recommend the Fallout series, bith 1 and 2, but make sure you get the patched versions otherwise you will get stuck at key points. Can't belive no has mentioned star wars galaxies yet either
Switch
Because everyone here is biast against MMORPGs. Duh! :P
Pob
But Ultima Online and Everquest where mentioned higher up the thread? Also Diablo I not bad either, if exceptionally linear and a touch dated. No one mentioned Arena or Daggerfall either
