The Mountains around the Grand Tetons at the southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park would be where I would like to see it. All the possible finds that could be there while scavenging would make for every wonder anyone's imagination could design.

The French man who named them may have found treasure of archaeology wonder that never got attention because of the severity of the weather.

It makes me wonder opportunity of stories of old civilizations that may still be unknown which, could be included to intriguing conclusions. Monsters stranger than Sasquatch.

Hong Kong would tempt me to tiresome pedantry, knowing the place as well as I do (or did, before we gave it back to China).

But the British Isles would make for a good location, I think .... London a radioactive slag heap, but plenty of other cities and towns with varying degrees of devastation. Our good old North/South divide would provide a rationale for two major factions, or there could be a series of city states (as in Ancient Greece) based on defended localities, such as the Isle of Wight or the Welsh mining valleys. And some of these localities would be populated by non-caucasians, representing the present immigrant concentrations.

Alas I doubt that, without a hefty Brit input into the design, the full depth of such a scenario could be achieved. For example, did you know that the Jutes (cousins of the Angles and Saxons) introduced a distinctive system of land tenure which survived in their territory for something like 1400 years? And there are still people who are so proud as to boast that their ancestors came to England with William the Conqueror. (To whom a good reply is, "Yes and my ancestors were here with Harold wairting for him").

My people are from Normandy, the families castle is in north Yorkshire, your ancestors would have been better off staying in bed. . .Lol. Seriously they would so mess up a British game it would be eyewatering, remember Hellgate London?

The only way to carry it off would be so politically incorrect, so culturally insensitive . . .words fail me. You cannot go far enough back in our history to escape stirring up prejudices that are best left alone. Might as well set it in Northern Ireland and be done with it.

I never played Fallout 1, or Tactics.

I tried to play fallout 2 once, but I couldn't get very far before I found it boring. This was after I had played fallour 3, and the level of immersion in going from a 3d first person game, to an isometric 2d game, just doesn't compare. I couldn't tolerate playing it.

The fallout wiki is constantly making references to those games though, and stuff that happened in the history of the Fallout universe, which makes me want to see it. In full modern technology.

So I'd really like the next fallout game to revisit the old locations. I'd like to see The Hub, and Shady Sands, as they are today, rendered in full glorious 3D with realtime combat and stuff.

I like WarKirby3333's idea, I too never played 1 or 2 for exactly the same reasons. So while I respect those of you that understand all this 'Lore' stuff it isn't 'carved in code for me'.

The problem is that would be an incredibly dangerous (for Bethsoft or whoever owns the franchise next) thing to try to do. X proportion of the fan base will throw up their hands and say what a cop out and Y percent will be harping on about their favorite detail being mangled or otherwise misrepresented. Finally Z percent will be wondering what the hell this that or the other is all about, as trying to fit 3 games worth of material into 1 game. . something has to get left out.

So a really good idea . . But! The chances of pulling it off, doing it well . . . Naaa, you would have to be so confident. You'd need to produce a game that was so good, little or no bugs, groundbreaking graphics, a riveting storyline and sparkling dialog that would blow the X,Y & Z arguments away, and what are Bethsoft's chances of that?

Shame really, its one of the best ideas on this thread.

I have to say I like the War (Vacuum cleaners family member) 3333's idea too. I think that anyone who has played that first version would agree there are some endearing parts that could be really neat if brought up again.

After realizing how the winds on some days around the Grand Tetons can cause a guy on a 750 cc Triumph Trident to have to gear down to second gear just to keep the speedometer at 20 mph. How they might keep out any possible invasions from any army of mutant's, Raider's, rad roaches, rad scorpion's, mole rats, even glowing feral ghouls would be shredded upon the rocks on a windy gusty day.

I known, because I rode that motorcycle and was passing cars and 18 wheelers, some compact cars too that are not much bigger, and their bulk brought them to a stand still on the road through Wyoming on the way to the Pass that enters the South end of Yellowstone. It was a real weird experience for me when my bike barely got up to 65 mph normally. It was a good feeling too though as I was passing all those people who whizzed by me doing 70 and 75 mph a hundred miles back.

I've decided I'd like to see the island where all the dreams of life on earth as said to be focused. Drum roll...The winner is...Australia Mahn!
