Lachdonin
I generally find skimpy armour ludicrous, to downright offensive. Yeah.... except it's neither ludicrous nor offensive. It's LORE-FRIENDLY. http://i.imgur.com/qsulusU.jpgYeah... Except the cover art for Arena had no bearing on the armour design in-game (asside from a few pieces of cloth designed for mage characters) and pre-dates the solidification of any internal rules for the setting. And, again, skimpy armour IS NOT EVEN REMOTELY THE POINT. but there remains no justification for the use of Fur http://i.imgur.com/deMQ66m.jpgAs ARMOUR. Of course it's good for insulation, but it offers no noteworthy protection. Layered canvas would be more protective than that, though admittedly not nearly as warm. I am not talking about motifs, skimpy armour, spikey protrusions, Mail thongs or anything else. I am talking about styles and techniques of armouring that exist ONLY as Fantasy RPG Tropes and do not actually work, either in the real world or within the logic of the setting. kniggit92
Fur armor isn't really armor in Skyrim, it barely gives any protection at all. They aren't using it as armor they're using it because they do not own any armor or armoring skills. Edited April 3, 2015 by kniggit92
