Making custom head meshes?

I've read a bunch of the tutorials on making custom weapons/armor/objects etc. but haven't found any specifically about heads. At least not for Fallout.

I'm not even looking to do anything super exciting really. I just want to tweak a head mesh for personal use. I just worry that there are steps involved that are unique to heads/faces that won't be covered by the other tutorials....

you would be right to worry.

Only thing i can think of in regards to custom head right now, is this thread http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/242642-wipnew-head-in-blender/page__st__10

IF you want to make some minor edits to a head, then it maybe possible to do so without screwing up the morphs. If you intend to add or remove any vertices then you will be in trouble, if you change the shape and proportion of the head, the conformulator will only be semi useful in converting morphs to your new model. basically you will probably have to do new ones.

this is all a pita because there is no way to directly export facegen morphs from either blender or max.

Umm, maybe a noob comment, but in the GECK (as buggy as it is) you can randomize faces and stuff,

I also (on accident at first) clicked on the actual face while in the Face or Head Advanced tab, and you can move around bits of their head manually, i ended up with what looked like a mushroom man, and then the geck crashed..

It was dodgy but really quick and easy.
