There are some furry mods here and we don't allow trolling; it doesn't surprise me.

After reading the message about the hack, I tried logging in to my Gmail account latter on and found my email locked down for some reason. When I was able to finally look at what my email was like. I found that it had sent out a single mail to everyone on my friends list. It was detected by Gmail as suspicious and blocked from ever getting sent out. This is the very first time I have ever had my account hijacked and I only give this email to people I know my school and this site.

This may or may not have been relevant to the hack. Yes, they did get email lists. Yes, we did suggest changing the passwords used that have any similarities to the ones that you use for your login here, as a precaution.

But most likely, this sounds to me like you caught a virus. ESPECIALLY if you use an email client to handle your gmail. In other words, an email program to send/receive emails. Keep in mind that gmail uses different ports than many other emails do, and the unsecured method of those ports is a SECURITY HOLE TO VIRUS SCANNERS. Avast! constantly reminds me that the gmail account that I have set up is unsecured, and cannot be scanned for incoming/outcoming mails.

I would VERY strongly recommend doing several scans on your system with malwarebytes, trend micro housecall, and activescan from PandaSoftware. In cases of actual infestations, only 50% trust your local scanner. Many new malwares can set the AV to ignore them.

Good, that the script kiddy problem is solved. Would be hilarious and frustrating if he has caused more damage. No need to apologise. This things happens nowadays.

Even though sometimes it cant be helped ( the percentage of existing living-in-moms-basement-script-kiddies outnumbers the honest to code, forum-visitor ) we understand.

But all kidding aside ( lol ) this happens and the Nexus staff ( best people and site ever ) were professionals about it and went on resolving it.

You don't need to apologize, we the Nexus dwellers, will still carry the torch!!

No damage done - it's not like we keep our credit card info here. This kind of stuff is bound to happen sometimes.

Nothing will keep me away from ... nexus :)
