I'm really hoping they return to a more dangerous, untamed wasteland like FO3. The Large factions and lack of overall danger and disparity in New Vegas was just terrible to me...

The Rust Belt would be best IMO, Detroit, Chicago, Toledo etc.

I think Michigan would work best though, being already very worn down by the decline of industry.

Pick a state which gets named by foreign character who say they want to go there and raise a family and live on these things the americans call "ranch". Those Character who are mortally wounded or shot dead five minutes later.

Montana is one of those States. Green Forests, fresh air and the like. And what happened to the infamous Summer Camps? I wanna see small Ghouls in Pathfinder uniforms :D

I would find China interesting, see the fallout (heh) of the Great War from the other side, but I think I agree with others here that stated that Fallout will always be in the US. I would like to see the European commonwealth to see what happened there, but is it really a Fallout game then, or just another post-nuclear wasteland?. I like the idea of Berlin, London, Prague (big and flat city, lots of twisty little streets, great metro system) maybe Moscow (but that would feel too much like Metro 2033). As an aside, when I first saw Metro I though, oh wow, a whole game clawing through the dark metros that I began to hate.

What I WANT though...

GIANT open world. I want to be able to spend a year worth of ingame time and walk from the Capital Wasteland to the NCR. Be able to pass through Chicago, St Louis, VAST open wastelands of Nebraska and Oklahoma, NYC, Detroit, through New Vegas... you get the idea. Highwaymen, bits and remenents of other BOS groups, muties galore. Think the swampfolk from Point Lookout all the way through the Appalachians... I know this is really not feasible, but...

my very first thought when I read the question was "New York", but the more I think about the more I like the idea of New Orleans with the surrounding swamps an the Mississippi river. Probably they could implement the possibility for a trip to Cuba or other carribean islands

I would suggest London . It has enough recognisable landmarks like Big Ben, Tower of London, buckingham palace. A real maze of underground tunnels streatching hundereds of miles incuding goverment bunkers, subways, catacombs and sewers going back to roman times. Weather changes all the time. Over 138 nationalities live there. River Thames runs through centre with Tower Bridge as a major landmark.

plenty for a design team to get thier teeth into.

I like how you thought this through. It would be perfect.

Actually yes, I agree. Would be pretty cool seeing as how you could just be playing, stumble across a monument and just be like; 'OMG, There's Big Ben!'
