Jokerine
Good morning! So I have this little model of a paper plane that's giving me trouble. :pinch: I downloaded the blender file from here and have successfully turned it into a .nif with collision and all. It works fine, but for some reason parts of it appear really dark in-game. Here's a picture. http://i.imgur.com/ET5uLBU.png I've checked for overlapping vertices (I am terrible with Blender so maybe I missed something...) and all but I still can't get it to work right. Would anybody be willing to take a look at the mesh and help me figure out what's with it? It's such a little thing that I can't believe I'm stumped  Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! ArekkusuStorm
It's very much possible that it's because it's nearly overlapping, look here: Blender is showing that the planes are close overlapping to with the dark blue area. Edit: Made a small mistake, if the planes are overlapping, they wouldn't be showing as dark blue, you would see the overlap :p. My bad. Also, I would probably suggest changing the mesh a bit because (I'm assuming) the original isn't too well made. Jokerine
I really don't know enough to even think about making it from scratch (which would probably be best). I was originally using this one but it seems to be way too high-poly for something this small :pinch:
devinpatterson
Have you had a chance to tweak any of the material properties? Total shot in teh dark, but you might mess with them a bit in nifskope since they can control how light is affected (reflected, emitted etc) by the model. And I'll try and mess around with it a bit when I get home too.
Jokerine
I've been messing with the flags and such to make them the same as other meshes but they seem to display the same. I even moved the planes around so they would not overlap at all, but the weirdness is still happening. I may just have to go with the higher-poly mesh instead :pinch:
flamenx01
What about the shader flags in BSShaderPPLightingPropertyEvery fallout mesh I've seen has SF_Specular | SF_Remappable_Textures | SF_ZBuffer_Testbut this one has no flags
Jokerine
I added those three flags to test but it seems to still display all dark and weird in-game. So annoying! This thing hates me :pinch: EDIT: Well, I just asked a friend to make me a new one so it's all good. Edited April 15, 2015 by Jokerine
lordzues40
one thing you could check is vertex colors someone might have set it up like that for shading sometimes the vertex colors are really hard to see in blender.
