Help - being followed by an imp?

I appear to have acquired an imp companion ... have no idea how. All of a sudden, there's an imp following wherever I go, including into buildings, thru fast travel and teleports, and into building mods (including ones that telport you in, rather than using a door). I have not conjured anything at all. I do have the Companion Vilja mod installed, but I thought she only did very minor magic (I'm still only at level 2, which means she's still at level 1). I have not acquired any other companions, though I do have the Companion Share & Recruit (CSR) mod installed. I also have not installed the petshop mod, as I saw there were some issues with it & one of my other mods.

At one point the imp attacked a villager in Weye (have the AFK Weye mod installed), at which point the whole village went after it. I ended up killing the imp, and, on hover over, there was no label to identify it, and it had nothing in inventory. I was never able to get a label to show up while it was still alive, either, but I thought it was because it would move away when I approached. I did not get any bounty or other negative stats after it attacked the villagers. This is really annoying, and I don't really want it accidentally wiping out a needed NPC.

Oh, and periodically it just drops dead for no reason that I'm aware of, and then respawns.

Anyone have any ideas as to whether this is supposed to happen? Or how to get rid of it?
Dropping dead then respawning sounds more like a conjured imp. Do you have a conjure imp spell in your list?

No conjure imp in my list ... no conjure anything at all ... it's not one of my favorite skills (or at least it wasn't in Morrowind), so at level 2 I haven't really used it yet. Haven't figured out a way to check what's on Vilja's list, though I've seen her do the occasional heal spell.

You can always use the console to disable it, assuming it isn't a crucial part of some mod you use. I'm still trying to figure out why an ogre and other creatures live in the imperial city in my game.

You have monsters in the imperial city? Oh, my! Hope they're not doing too much damage.

Disable it ... mmm ... got the ID from the console, and it's 14000804 .... If I'm reading this correctly, the first 2 digits correspond to the mod no., which on my list is a mod called "Clean Up", by kurtee (texnexus file id 24606). I just went thru the readme, and there's nothing described that would match it.

That imp has a lot of gall, following you around like that...

Oh, oh ... if only! ... at least then there'd be _some_ benefit from the thing.
Sorry about the formatting ... something got messed up when I edited.

If you open the console, click on the imp (even if you don't see a name, you'll see an ID), then immediately type "disable", it will disable just that one imp, not all of them. And the ogre did kill a beggar, otherwise no other casualties.

Found it, & I think I've ID'd the offending mod (see edited post above), which I will probably disable at this point, since it's not supposed to do that. However, I've been having other strange stuff happening ... random CTD's, game lockups, mods suddenly malfunctioning, then suddenly starting to work again. I thought I was careful in selecting my mods ... tried to stick to the recommended ones & avoided the ones that were identified as problems. I used the guide on TESPositive for setting things up & installing the mods, used Wrye Bash 290 for the actual installations (& OBMM when there was only an OBMM version available), used BOSS to do a final sort, and then followed the instructions to do a bashed patch, but apparently something is out of whack.

I could just use Wyre Bash to disable a bunch of mods & have it cleanup the save game, but how do I figure out what mods are causing the problems? Or if I've just got a bad mod loaded? I also don't know if at this point if my save games are corrupted or not, and don't know how to determine that. While I hate to start all over again, I am only at level 2, so it wouldn't be a total disaster. Should I pare down my mod list & start over, or just uninstall some & hope the problems go away? And how do I decide what to cut? I don't want to disable a bunch of stuff, play for a while & then find the problems are still occurring.

I just finished Morrowind recently, with both Bloodmoon & Tribunal, plus other mods installed, and never had any of these problems, so I'm a bit frustrated. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
