Bright lights is perhaps the stupidest piece of evidence you can bring up for alien visitors. Top secret aircraft testing by the military maybe, but its certainly not aliens. There were flying machines before planes that could hover in one place, not accelerate fast but certainly hover in one place. You can never know what the government is testing, it seems out of human capabilities but you never know until such a weapon is used. In WW2, a death ray with use of microwaves was the weapon most people were attempting to use as a WMD. Then atom bomb was the weird thing, people thought it could not be within human capabilities. They're rich kids who put on ridiculous alien costumes with silly antennae and foil suits so they can buzz planets that haven't made interstellar contact yet.
