Linkster10
I know this may be a bit stupid, but I would LOVE if one of you great modders out there would be able to make a different type of currency, like a Silver Septim. Basically, I would like it if a modder could create a type of currency that would be equivalent to one Gold Septim with lets say...... 25 Silver Septims. I would like this coin to be available in enemies, shops, ect. I would also like to be able to use this in shops. And my final request: I would like to be able to trade 25 Silver Septims in for a Gold Septim. Thank You Very Much!
Cpt Cornelius
A bit like the Dragon Age Currency where a hundred bronzes (bits) makes a silver and 100 of them make a sovereign (gold) I like the idea too actually. It would really flesh out the currency. You would need to change the costs of things though or make it so gold is tight and everythin is expensive (recession)
Deleted1848331User
I believe OOO has that. editNot sure about the trading in part though, and I don't know if it works as currency :P Edited January 3, 2011 by Guest
Cpt Cornelius
No, all OOO does is add platinum coins for you to sell but it does pretty much work like currency (sell the coin and buy stuff with the gold)
Deleted1848331User
I was close... lol I don't know if it's possible to do this except for trading in silver septims, because currency is used with a specific ID, which is Gold_001. And it was the same ID with Morrowind too... lol. They need to get creative.
ub3rman123
At most, I believe you could do what they had in Morrowind with Dwemer coins. They were simply an item worth 25 gold. I'm not sure if you can make something worth smaller increments of gold than 1.
Deleted1848331User
you can make it worth half a piece of gold, making it worth 0 :P
Lyncor
I think the idea of this is not to have an item that's worth a certain amount of septims, but instead change the currency itself so that it arranges itself into septims + more valuable septims. Kind of like the Bronze --> Silver --> Gold in WoW, for lack of a better comparison. I think it makes sense. I mean, carrying around 100'000 coins isn't very realistic.. Linkster10
Hm, I agree with you all, and thanks to all who may agree... If I were a better modder (or even a modder at all :P ) I'd make it myself. But I say this idea gives a more immersive feel to the game. I mean like, you can buy things in bronze, silver, or gold, then sell with the same. I am one of the people that would love a detailed mercantilism system... hmmm, I need you guys to give me your opinion, do you think that becoming a shop owner in oblivion would be fun? Where people actually come in and ask to you to trade currency for goods. :P But back on topic, this idea NEEDS to be spread :D
